Graphical Bug - 100% Opaque blue/white checkered overlay
-
Hi, I’m going to try and describe the problem and supply screenshots along with what I tried to alleviate the issue.
Whenever I load the beta there is this blue/white checkered texture that sits behind the GUI. It does not impede my ability to configure options, create servers, join servers, start the tutorial or even my ability to choose my class/weapons in game! The problem lies in that it lays over all gameplay, I cannot see the players/environment.
The only things I see in game are:
- Kill feed
- Chat, I’ve even talked with other players
- Health and stamina bars
- The direction I was hit from
- Crosshairs
My attempts to fix it we’re the usual updating of video drivers, configuring and re-configuring of different graphics options. I deferred to another similar thread: viewtopic.php?f=69&t=2131. Either way, now that I’ve plead my issue. I’ll be watching this thread to provide further information to assist with the issue. Here are the screenshots I promised as well.

Did you try to validate the game cache files?
Try right click Chivalry on your steam list>go to properties>Local Files> Verify Integrity of game cache.
I had an issue with crashing and then did this, apparently 10 files were re downloaded.
-
Oops, forgot to add I did that as well. Update: I reinstalled the game and the problem still persists, after a fresh install I validated the cache again. The problem still persists, I’ll list my specs to give some ground work at troubleshooting.
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
Processor: Intel Core i5 CPU 750 @ 2.67 GHz (4 CPUs)
Memory: 4096MB RAM
DX 11
Display: Radeon HD 5800, driver version 8.982.0.0And if it helps I play on a dual monitor setup between my TV and monitor.
-
If you disconnect teh dual monitor setup does that fix anything?
-
I had a feeling that would be the first suggestion.
I just tried it and it does not fix the issue. Disconnecting either monitor and launching two times on either screen had no impact.
