Joining a friend crashes my internet

Hey, whenever I try to join a friend in Chivalry, even when there are spaces available I can’t join and if I try to join a different server they will all be invisible and I can’t join any. So I leave the game and try to go on Google Chrome but I can’t connect to the internet at all. It completely crashes. It can take anywhere from 5-10 minutes before I can go online again. : :x
Does anybody else get this problem, or am I the only one. Is this Chivalry’s fault or is it my internet?
Can I fix this? Please help! :(

Try going to the Steam client and in the menu bar, click
Steam > Settings > Downloads + Cloud > Game Server Browser Max Ping / Minute and set that number really low.
