Meleefields for Chivalry



  • This map could really work well for these following gamemodes: Last-team standing, Team deathmatch and King of the Hill. Meleefields used to be one of the few only team deathmatch maps back in Age of Chivalry, it was a perfect map for both Ranged and Melee fighters.

    Here is a map sketch.

    ? Red Box marks the Mason Order spawnpoint ( See picture 5 )
    ? Blue Box marks the Agathian Knight spawnpoint
    ? Middle has an obstacle ( see picture 4 )
    ? On the two corners around the palisade wall, North-west, and south-east, there is a tower.
    ? Two ammo boxes on the west and east side of the obstacle ( see picture 4 )
    ? Brown simple line marks a small palisade wall with a hole in it, suitable for archers.
    ? Brown line with lines sticking out of it symbols the death trap, could be used to kick an enemy onto it.
    ? blue boxes, marks the two statues on the map.

    Please state your opinions and thoughts about this map.
    Also, please see if you can answer either one of the question listed below.
    ? Do you think this map could be converted to Chivalry and work properly?
    ? Do you think this would be an apropriate map for both ranged and melee units?
    ? Do you think spawnpoints need to be changed to prevent spawncamping?
    ? Could a possible CTF be made on this map, where there is a flag on each tower?

  • I honestly don’t think that map is large enough to support anything but duels.

    would really like to see it implemented. But to be honest: Give the modkit priority. When the modkit is out, there will be abundance concerning maps :)

  • Basically I would love to see all the old maps from AoC being implemented into Chivalry.

    Not only were most of them very well designed. The balance issues on the old maps weren’t nearly as arguable as they are now in Chivalry. At least that’s what I think.

    Meleefields…meh, I never was a huge fan of that map. But yeah, why not? More map variety is never wrong. :p

    Btw what was the map called where Gayson spawned at the shore and hat to steal several things from Agatha (crown, map, etc)?
    Redo the old maps for Chivalry! Please! :)

    I think this map would need to be bigger imo. AoC was a lot slower regarding combat and movement in general, so yeah. Make it bigger and maybe put some more details into it. 'twas always so frustratingly empty. A shallow grave surrounded by stone. sniff

    A crown and a Map, I think you are refering to AOC_MONASTERY

    I agree, this game desperately needs new maps and the modkit is the way to do it. Then the community could convert all the old AoC maps to CMW.

    Way bigger than arena. Personally, I think it will need some more structures about to protect from archers. I can see a very good archer being unstoppable on this map.
