CU1 Patch 2 Beta 2



  • The second batch of changes to the beta client is now available for testing. It contains a whole host of new fixes and tweaks to the previous combat mechanics changes, as well as the first pass of balance changes aimed at rebalancing weapons around longer windups and faster releases, as well as improvements to some weapons that were long overdue for buffs.

    Bug Fixes:

    -Dodge cooldown should work properly again (1 second delay before being able to dodge again)
    -Sprint no longer causes you to slide forward during a dodge or crossbow reload.
    -Fixed a bug causing Light Crossbow to become unable to fire.
    -Rank limits will now recognize rank 0.
    -Blocked access to some console commands allowing you to switch weapons when you shouldn’t be able to.
    -Flinch animation was playing server-side for players struck by a teammate, overriding their real animation.
    -Respawn timer will no longer force you to the next spawn wave if you have class or weapon select open at the end of your current spawn wave.
    -No longer stunned if your shield blocks a projectile while out of stamina.
    -Fixed a server request allowing hackers to spawn as the king class.

    Tweaks/Improvements:

    -Better kick/shield bash hit detection against enemies on higher or lower elevation.
    -Bonus stamina regeneration from crouching removed; normal stamina regeneration rate increased by 40% of previous crouch stamina rate.
    -Dodge stamina cost increased by 5.
    -End of windup feints have a .6 recovery for one-handers and .5 for two-handers.
    -Being flinched or having your attack deflected will now prevent you from starting to sprint again for 1 second.
    -Quick kick costs 5 less stamina than slow kick, made slightly faster, and now works with shields as well.
    -Enemy-specific collision radius reduced by 20%.
    -Decreased visual size of buckler for first person Flail animations (other buckler animations will be fixed as well).

    About maa multiple nerf, i don’t know, i will play more before saying this is bad or not, but i just hope we will still be able to evade spam feinter + sprint guys……



  • The sprinting animation for the knight with flail still looks really weird. It looks like he’s duck waddling.

    its was dumb that crouching recovered stamina faster than standing still. the increased stamina rate was pretty generous I think.

    What’s the difference between slow and quick kick?

    I thought there was only one kick (f)



  • Slow/quick kick was a change in the first beta of patch 2. If you tap F you’ll do a fast kick - if you hold it, you’ll charge your kick for a slower one. The slow kick works exactly the same as the kick on live does, the fast kick won’t stun enemies who are blocking.

    A faster claymore! (slower combo tho). this will be glorious (i think).No change to grunt during late feint though? My biggest pet peeve with current betas. Can we have a no grunt option? Soon Chivalry will be like a Serena Williams tennis match. lol

    Also how is increased stamina regen catering to the casual player? It just means you can transition from a completed fight to another fight faster. And you don’t have the ridiculous crouch to regen mechanic. How many hours do you need to learn how to crouch to regen effectively exactly? lol

    I speak for a duel pov, you have to crouch for regen stamina and your opponent can use that against you, and attack at the right moment, always put the pressure at the right moment for not let you regen stamina, however i don’t care about the change that much, actually as a maa this gonna give me an advantage i guess, i crouch a lot in live version but it’s not so important.

    As for the beta, i’m fine with it, the only problem i see on mechanics are, you can feint and still make the sound of a non feint hit (when the character scream a little when you land a shot), so yh feint should always make no sound, however they are pretty readable in my opinion.

    No kidding. I love the flail now. I see the good clannies still being able to surprise me with lookdown overheads and dragging - but not to the excessiveness that was in live. Looks pretty good right now.

    I think in 5vs5 maa will be totally useless without chance to avoid the swings.
    Meta with 2 knights+2vangas+archer incoming.

  • MAAs say that they can not spam dodge now. => Block 2nd attack or use footwork. Other classes do not have dodge, but they play without it.
