Please help me setup a new PC :D

  • Hi there
I’m so obsessed with this game that i’ve decided to sell my entire Xbox stuff + my actual PC, and buy a whole new one :D
Can you help me make a setup ? :D Im not really aware of the new products :D

Right now i have Gefore 9600 512mb, Dual Core 2,5 Ghz and 4 GB RAM which i think is only enough to run the game with mid settings:/
My goal is to be able to play the game on high graphics with fix 60 FPS and ill be able to spend about 380-400 USD on VGA, CPU, RAM(s), and motherboard.

So is that possible to buy a PC that is able to run the game on high graphics with fix 60 FPS with that kind of money ?

Could you guys please tell me exact parts that i should buy ? .

  • Its kinda difficult to build a new good system with that budget. Can you please tell me if you can add more money? And how much?

    • what parts are you going to keep? PSU, Hard drive, case etc…

If its only 400 dollars then I will try my best to find a good setup for you.

the case is that im going to sell my whole PC and buy a whole new one (i will keep only the the monitor, speakers, mouse, keyboard and thats all.

im going to have about 450-500 USD for a new computer including everything.

  • Ok here we go :D

CPU: Intel Celeron G530. http://bit.ly/zbTpAa Use the stock intel fan. It will do for now, but I recommend that you get an aftermarket cooler one day

    Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-H61MA-D3V LGA 1155. http://bit.ly/SAMO2L

    GPU: EVGA GTX 560ti. http://bit.ly/gE7goX

Case: Rosewill R101-P-BK 120mm Fan MicroATX Mid Tower. http://bit.ly/K2W6jA. This case comes with a good fan too so you don’t have to buy one. Motherboard only has 1 fan header

    PSU: Antec VP-450 450W http://bit.ly/oY5WbD

    RAM: Pareema 4GB DDR3 SDRAM http://bit.ly/SRAxll

Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar Blue 320GB http://bit.ly/rdTmiU

    Total Price: $452 on newegg

This will run chivalry on high for sure

You can even run games like Skyrim and Battlefield 3 smoothly on high-ultra settings. :)

thanks for your answer man :)

i like the items that you’ve chosen but i find the CPU very weak …

cant you take a look at this setup that my friend suggested me, and tell your opinion about it ?

now since i live in hungary the prices are gonna be mentioned in HUF, atm 1 USD = about 250 HUF.

  • Yeah that i3-2100 cpu will perform better. And the motherboard your friend suggested looks better as well. But I honestly dont like the rest. Especially the GPU. I really recommend the 560ti. 7770 is just weak compared to it. With the 560ti you will get better frames and its more future proof

So I say just replace my CPU and Motherboard with the ones your friend suggested and the rest of the system should be the newegg link parts.

Also always double check to make sure that its the same exact model because there are very similar names.

Get that Samsung reader though :P

This will be a very good system imo. Not just for chivalry but overall a good PC

Thats the whole point man … i want to be able to play chivalry on high settings with fix 60 FPS … You say that it wont happen even with the GPU that you are suggesting, which is a lot more expensive than the one that i found ?

  • I have win7 64bit
    i3 2120
    560ti 1gb directCUII edition
    8gb ram

I get the 62 frame cap most of the time but sometimes it dips down to 40fps 1980x1080 all settings max except SSAO in low I think.

    Hope that helps.

Well it took me like 6-7 hours but finally i decided what do i want to buy.
    CPU: 32k HUF http://ipon.hu/webshop/product/intel_co … box/264028
    VGA: 47k HUF http://users.hu/Videokartya-PCI-Express … 27942.html
    RAM: 5k HUF http://www.aqua.hu/4gb-1333mhz-ddr3-ram … 32441.html
    MOTHERBOARD: 12k HUF http://ipon.hu/webshop/product/gigabyte … ds2/189545
HDD: 10-15k HUF ! now here im not really sure whats going on, it says that the HDD that i picked is SATA 3 and the motherboard supports only SATA 2 ( now what ? :S )
    PSU:5,5k http://ipon.hu/webshop/product/kolink_4 … fan/194711
    CASE:4,5k http://ipon.hu/webshop/product/akyga_aky921_1bl/264537
    READER:5k http://ipon.hu/webshop/product/samsung_ … ete/214183

also im willing to lower some graphics like shadow or water quality.
what do you think about this setup ?

  • If you find yourself unsure about your hardware selection, I highly suggest you post in the buildapc section of reddit. There are tons of helpful guys there. You can name your price and they will put together the best PC. It has been very helpful for me.

  • I dont think you need a third generation i3 because its only advantage over a second generation is the inbuilt graphics which you wont even be using. I only say this because you are going for a 560 instead of a 560ti, if you go back to i3 sandy bridge you should be able to bump up to a 560ti.

my final choice is going to be
    GPU: HD 7850
    CPU: i5 2500 3,3 Ghz
    RAM: 8 GB
    how you like this ?

No no no… I never said that it wouldnt run chivalry on high but still be a good pc. Thats why I said not Just for chivalry. I meant that you could play other games smoothly too and do other stuff as well, so its not like a pc that can only run chivalry smoothly and other games lag like shit…

Come on why would I even say that…

    • the 560ti is more than enough to max the game out I think. Im pretty sure that you would get decent frames with it thats why I told you to get that instead of the 7770 which is a bit weak.

But I like your final choice though, very good build.

And the 7850 is even a bit more powerful than the 560ti and uses less power

    “GPU: HD 7850
    CPU: i5 2500 3,3 Ghz
    RAM: 8 GB”

But just the cpu and gpu is going to cost 450 dollars? I thought you said 450-500.

What about the motherboard? Still getting that microATX one?
