Character spins in a circle

I just bought Chivalry and my character constantly spins in a circle. I’ve tried reloading the game, rebooting the computer, pressing a bunch of different keys, using the mouse, etc. Are there any fixes to this?
*edit: Solved. Chivalry can’t handle a joystick being plugged in.
