A Zombie MOD will be Beautiful

  • Imagine a coop map in wich you have to fight against hordes of zombie farmers and zombies with armor and swords…

Imagine decap some zombie head and smashing bones with a dual handed hammer…

    It won’t be awesome?

  • Oh it would be glorious, allowing a few friends to take on endless waves of zombies would be a hell of a good time. Anyone who says otherwise hates fun.

  • Zombies are overdone massively.

How about a peasant rebellion. Same principle, but more game fitting. And its new.

  • Yeah but peasants would be capable of having their arms severed and keep coming…
the idea with zombies is awesome - especially since you could cut their limbs off and they’d keep coming until you sliced that head off :D

  • The only fun zombie mod is the type where 1 or 2 players start out as zombie, and people they subsequently kill also become zombies. The round ends when there are no humans left.

  • What about… mythical beings that are not modern day zombies? What do we know from the medieval times that are not dragons? Hmmm… werewolves, ghosts… hey, skeletons and Death were popular things in poems in the 15th century! What about an army of skeletons?

    Maybe werewolves?

    [image:3j7sr0of]https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/6/6a/Werwolf.png[/image:3j7sr0of]

    Maybe ghouls from arabic folklore?

Last one is still pretty much a zombie, though I remember them actually being able to think.

  • You have my support, OP. Running into a crowd of the ravenous undead with a double axe and becoming a whirlwind of steel and rotten limbs would be very fun, espescially if it was co-op.

  • Spectral Echo hordes.

  • @SOC:

    Spectral Echo hordes.

    That is my dream.

  • Might do a a brain hurracaine on this one and post my version of a perfect supernatural zombie/mystical survival mode on the brainstorming section.

  • Wights are better than Zombies… :P

  • Screw zombies, Army of Darkness style skeletons.

That’s a fine peasant rebellion idea you got there.

  • What about Myth mod? You are a bunch of human medieval-looking soldiers and archers (and dwarves tossing explosives) fighting hordes of armored zombies with two-handed axes, fast-moving ghols with sickles and hatchets, hovering skeletal torsos throwing spears, etc etc

The Myth games are one of the few fantasy games I like, and you are pretty much always a small bunch of humans fighting a big bunch of undead and creatures spawned from another dimension. Would love a mod for it! (better yet, if Bungie could make a sequel for it… but I don’t know if they have the rights anymore)

Myth II gameplay slaughter, blood and body parts flying included:

Someone was making a mod for it on Medieval II: Total War as well, but it was put on ice/cancelled last year, sad to say :(

YES, exactly what I was thinkin. Kinda have it have an Army of Darkness taste to it, you know. Would be so sick.

  • “Last one is still pretty much a zombie, though I remember them actually being able to think.”

ghouls are technically not undead, they’re humans but they’re humans that dig up corpses to eat them (i didn’t invent the mythology), and that kinda transforms them to very undead-like. necrophagous cannibals, basically, that haunt tombs and graveyards etc.

zombies, btw, were of a much later reality, and the modern conception of a zombie is a product of several mythologies, of which ghouls might be one.

Yeah, I know that. But I said “pretty much a zombie” since they still eat people and look like corpses. Yeah, they don’t really hunt for people to eat so they dig up corpses on graveyards, but if they manage to ambush a lone human who pass through their dwelling, they’ll eat him. What I meant with “being able to think” is that they are not mindless like zombies, but they are not exactly nice either. There is mention of them in 'One Thousand and One Night" but I can’t seem to find it at the moment. The modern undead zombie who eats people was born with ‘Night of the Living Dead’ in 1968, which was more inspired by ghouls than zombies, and the resurrecting of dead people who are not cannibals and then calling them zombies was born with ‘White Zombie’ in 1932. The name ‘zombie’ is just taken from voodoo mythology, where you created mindless slaves with “magic”. Basically, you drugged them so that they appeared dead, then retrieved them after the burial and beat them into submission until they would do every command you gave them. The drugs and the treatment left them in a brain damaged state so that they could barely speak or perform any advanced kind of tasks. They didn’t live long because of that.
