Mod tools won’t necessarily be in the next patch - there are still some kinks to work out with those + we need workshop support. It’s on the beta so players can start working with it early.

So everybody, how are you preparing for the new patch that as of now seems stable and will bring new life to Chivalry by introducing the long awaited Mod tools, Rcon and character customization?

Mod tools are largely waiting on Workshop support (hopefully in the beta “soon”), and accompanying server browser and loading screen UI improvements. Those will hit the Beta first, then move with the SDK into the main game. That’s probably the next big patch.

Content Update One is why we use the word “soon” so often.

Why can’t the SDK hit live without the workshop, and then eventually get the workshop in?
Most of us (non-mappers) won’t have much use for the workshop anyway.
We can’t get many testers in Beta for our mods and the only reason I’ve been working so hard on them lately in Beta is because I had assumed next patch would come with SDK support.I must say that I’m truly frustated and just lost my enthusiasm to continue work on them.
Oh well, you must have your reasons for this decision. It doesn’t make it any easier for us who were waiting so eagerly for it though.

Was in a LTS server the other day where two vanguards were teaming together, both brandistock, and you couldn’t get anywhere near them. The only hope we had was if they really screwed up or our archer shot them.

TBS hasn’t posted their update from Friday yet, I bet they know about as much as we do when they’re going to get the workshop support thing. I imagine they’re waiting for some kind of word before they say something. I imagine Steam won’t give that word until way late in the game, if it’s even today.
Be patient. I keep a very strict “It puts down the brandistock or it gets the claymore again” policy. Seems fairly effective if you can just get past that first stab.
