Yet Another Weapon Idea Thread

  • I’m really sorry if there’s already a dedicated thread for all of this, please don’t yell at me (I did look!)

    Bar Mace - http://www.a2armory.com/images/weapons/barmace.jpg

It’s a bar mace, you smack people about with it whilst looking like a sir!

    Scimitar - http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41awWJNJIiL.SL500_AA300.jpg

I know that this is a Middle-Eastern weapon and it might look out of place, but I’m just half-heartedly throwing the idea out there. I wouldn’t be upset if this didn’t make it in lol

    Caltrops - http://waynesword.palomar.edu/images/caltrop.jpg

I don’t think these should do any damage (since that’s what the oil pot is for)… but I think they should stagger or slow opponents down (or drain stamina) for the duration of them walking over them. It would fit nicely since there are already ways of blocking visibility and doing damage so there should be one that messes with people somehow.

(If I have any more ideas I will edit this post)

  • That bar mace looks weird… lol also, it will be scary if it gets bloody.

The scimitar, isn’t it a bit similar to the falchion anyway.

Yea caltrops could make an area where everyone moves slow and at higher stamina cost and man at arms can’t dodge, because of getting spiked at their feet.

  • Caltrops would be a fantastic archer special.

  • IMO if the Sling makes it in, make the caltrops an option for its tertiary weapon. So it can just be the ultimate kit for annoying people :P

I think that’s what I love about it haha - It’s weird and unassuming at first, but then you double-take and look at it for a second time and you think how much it would hurt to be on the receiving end of it!

there’s no disguising that they look similar, but they function differently. In real life, the falchion was basically a sword with the functionality of an axe… the back of the foible was thick and heavy and at the front it was sharp, which gave it momentum like an axe - the scimitar was just a curved sword. I can’t remember the exact science behind it, but the curve made it cut more easily.

I’m just imagining throwing them down off of your battlements onto the attackers below, then watching your team mates pour the boiling oil onto them as they slowly try to make their retreat but can’t quite do it in time hehe… I still think oil pots will out-annoy the caltrops though
