  • I’ve always felt that the horizontal slash animation for sword charge attacks looks very stupid and fails to convey any kind of force behind the attack. It’s just a guy jumping and very slowly dragging his sword right to left. It looks even more ridiculous now and I think it should be a brisk overhead slam into the ground instead, without the sliding and lingering release, like on all other weapons.

    Using the sprint attack with swords is a nobrainer for many players now because of how far you fly and how much less likely it is to get punished and people can’t seem to stop teamkilling with it either. If the sword attack is turned into a vertical slash maybe the directional influence or turn rate for all charge attacks could be buffed so that they are all potentially useful instead of just an extra perk for the one weapon class that’s already most popular.
