Wish list for a better Chivalry: Medieval Warfare

  • Wish list of things I would like to see fixed:

    NEW

As you can see, this is just a wish list and I only just got back into Chivalry after taking another break from it, there is probably a hundred more things that need addressing but I feel these are the most important thing that Medieval Warfare needs.

It seems like Chivalry: Deadliest Cashgrab is taking up most of TB’s time, but I’m sure none of this is falling on deaf ears, right?

    Right?

    Right?

    Right?

  • Nerf archers, nerf MaAs. Revert/fix stamina. Buff longsword, change claymore. Revert chase mechanic. Remove parry recovery, re-add combo feint to parry but make it cost 1/2 stamina or something. Fix desync issues, and bad hit detection (especially due to collision bubble). Add option to disable customization. Re-optimize every map graphically. Auto-kick 150+ ping players on officials. Include idle time, ping, and K/D/A on votekick window. Make enemy archers and MaAs have louder footsteps. Do all these things before new content.

    And lastly, but not least:

Fix the server browser for good.

  • Old Stamina system
    Old Feint system
    CFTP back
Redo weapon balance from july patch
    Sprintlockout gone
    Old Chase mechanic
    Bubble gone
    Release SDK

    Perfect.

  • Man, the devs must be at the point where they immediately eyeroll when they come across threads like these. 8-)

    Also know as lacking motivation.

    • SDK release
    • default FoV set to 100+ depending on screensize
    • model fix for higher FoV
    • hitbox fix for several obstacles
    • duel mode interface fix
    • duel mode customization fix
    • customization color fix (bring back the Mason black and remove the FFA pitch black)
    • collision bubble removal or significant size decrease
    • dagger reach decrease
    • more realistic interactions if you fall on anothers head
    • increased falling damage (charge attacks from a 10m wall are stupid)
    • buff to CFTP and nerf to panic parry (like starting the “no parry window” right after release and make it count for both)
    • combo parry removal
    • being able to parry a weapon during windup (and maybe also recovery)
    • opposite direction dragging cap lowered (delay show be possible but not look like stopping your weapon mid air)
    • useful shields: hitbox matching visual size and less stamina cost for blocking
    • Buckler buff (more than the mentioned shield fix)
    • increased Crossbow reload time
    • Warbow Bodkin arrow damage decrease (to ~95)
    • Shortbow damage increase
    • removal of reload lookup glitch
    • Greatsword: renamed to Claymore, gets Claymore model
    • Claymore: slight speed nerf, slight damage buff, renamed to Greatsword, gets Greatsword model
    • Longsword/SoW: slight speed buff
    • Messer: twohanded slash damage decrease
    • Flail hitbox fix: straight line, only a tiny parryable hitbox
    • stab attacks (especially spears/polearms): faster release but less draggable, increased recovery time (especially for axes and blunt weapons)
    • charge attack less draggable
    • ghost strike fix (aka removal)
    • friendly fire flinching
      -not this:
      @CRUSHED:

    Old Stamina system
    Old Feint system
Redo weapon balance from july patch
    Sprintlockout gone
    Old Chase mechanic

as these changes were a step in the right direction, stamina system might need a revisal though

    • and for the love of everything you might believe in: no clientside customization disabling (aka customization removal)

    • Remove feints
    • Remove drags
    • Remove dodge
    • Remove archers
    • Remove men at arms
    • Remove vanguards
    • Remove knights
    • Remove clans
    • Remove weapons
    • Remove movement
    • Remove kebab
    • Remove game
    • Remove memory of the game ever existing

    There, everyone should be happy.

I guess not. There’ll still be stuff that people cry about.

  • @SOC:

    Remove parry recovery

Good list, but could you explain this please?

  • Probably panic parry.

Heard too many people say otherwise to believe it was a step in the right direction.

  • old weapon balance was, surprisingly, shittier.

  • @CRUSHED:

Heard too many people say otherwise to believe it was a step in the right direction.

Its not about talking people but common sense and bad mechanics:

Old stamina system: Feint, spam, parry all day and when you run out of stamina simply parry to get it back. Not even talking about the “take a shit to get your stamina back” feature. Maybe replacing the stun (~1.8s) with a much shorter daze but dealing damage (like 50% of the parried attacks damage) would work out better then the current state (its okay if you use a big weapon but stunning somebody with a dagger is just stupid).

Old feints: A good feinter was completely unreadable as there was no window between “is feintable” and “does full damage” reducing the game to guesswork. The unfeintable window was a good change for everyone but feint gamblers.

Old weapon balance: A few good weapons, many horribly bad weapons and tons of overshadowed weapons. Now its better so future balance changes should be based on the current values.

Sprintlockout: You run around striking with your weapon but it gets hit and pushed aside (you don’t block/parry by simply holding up your defense) - while you keep running as if nothing happened? Doesn’t make much sense.

Old chase mechanic: The chase mechanic is intended to prevent endless running by giving the chaser a minor speed boost. If its activating against enemies thats don’t run away from you how do you call it? Probably “bugged”. It should only work if your enemy is sprinting and looking away from you. Otherwise its just a “random speed boost” mechanic.

The amount of wrong in this post is incredible. Sucks how the game is worse now because of how you think, and so many less people play.

    This.

    Holy.Shit.

  • i wish to see changes to the shield, some improvements to make it a better option in any situation.
For the archers you can nerf them,i adapt easily and a more challeging scene for archers would make a good archer really stand up in the crowd.

Lol, I bet you’re just a spammy fuck who uses every unintended feature and whose no fun to play against.
You want the old Chivalry back because it was so much easier to be good once you finally learned all the OP mechanics with poor balancing.

  • Let’s stop this back and forth before the thread gets locked.
