Is this expansion as bad as I think it is?

    I think he is refering to the knight and Viking which he is right. Using the vanguard out of MW for viking is disgusting and dosent make much sense I would rather him not say anything.

  • i don’t know what’s up with flinch… i have my issues enough with flinch in medieval warfare, but now it’s problematic in DW too. Who is writing the flinch code? They need some assistance i believe. Flinch you are right is basically non existent, but it’s somewhat there… but even flinches are very short when they do happen and you have to be really on top of your combos to avoid hit trades. Flinch during release carried over as well which annoys the piss out of me.

  • Wrath doesn’t seem to realise that this is a beta.

    Also blue tracers don’t cause flinches. If you played the training you should know about the new damage system suggested by the community. Blue tracers cause the least amount of damage and don’t flinch. Feature.

  • I’d have to say so. Everything about the game just feels horrendous. I never thought it was possible, but TB have actually managed to make a game which encourages LMB face spamming more than MW. God damn am I really hating this game atm; it’s just so damn terrible. Really hoping steam gives me my refund.

    So yeah looks like I was unknowingly opted into the “sdk” beta thinger so that may or may not have placed me into some old version of DW or something. Maybe that’s had an effect downloading the correct one. Certainly is what caused me to not be able play online.

    Anyway, this may have invalidated the entire OP. Woopsie-daisy.

    Yeah the version I was playing had absolutely no new voice acting other than maybe the pirate which was unplayable. Also the ninja’s weapons were unskinned and misaligned? Again, could be a result of me using this SDK version.

    Yeah this is what I was thinking. I simply couldn’t believe it was like that in the online version, no way I’d be the only one pissed. I’m also aware that flinches were still “in” but they certainly didn’t take affect in situations when they absolutely should have. Probably a result of the old version.

    Yeah I played that little tracer section of the tutorial and remember reading that post a while back. Seemed like a good idea, but holy shit the implementation I was seeing was absolutely a deal breaker for me. Let’s hope its not really like that.

    Lemon, if you’re going to defend CDW, please for the love of god update your information. Blue tracers flinch, this was changed a while ago due to overwhelming negative feedback about it.
    It sounds to me like the OP is playing an outdated version of CDW which is odd.



  • Just labored through 15 arduous minutes of FFA in DW. With this flinch mechanic as it is now, everyone is just choosing whatever class can take the most hits (Knight, Samurai) and lmb the longest reaching, most damaging weapon they have. IT IS NOT FUN!
    I am usually pretty relaxed when it comes to game-play issues, and usually find a tactic to overcome it, but this is beyond ridiculous. All people do now is just hit trade away to victory.

    Also played Ninja vs Knights and our team (Ninjas) had to use so much teamwork (3v1) to even contend against the knights who would just lmb spam and hit trade.

  • Melee combat seems fairly borked overall right now.

    The speed of some weapons, combined with the smaller blocking window, makes melee more of a guessing game than anything. I’m not sure why they decided to go this route when the first game’s netcode had such a difficult time with fast weapons. The animations on a lot of them also don’t really match up with the point where they strike.

    And on the topic of clunkiness, TB got the feel close to perfect for MW, but have taken it too far in DW. I feel like a submerged, rusting automaton in melee.
