    100% Crash rate various times, I’ve tried all the fixes in the big help list… uninstall reinstall etc… nothing is working I have an Alienware m17xr4 laptop and its maxed out about 2 months old… Only game this happens to me on… it Completely Freezes my pc up I have to hold down the power button to restart, 100% of the time various places.   • Had a trawl through there and can’t see anything that stands out.

    Being alienware I’d be remissant if I didn’t check if it was overheating? :P

    Since the entire computer is hanging, rather than a game crash I’d have a look in the eventlogs just after a crash to see if anything comes up in there (should come up in win 7 if you search programs for ‘event’). Possibility of the graphics card drivers crashing. Also I wanted to check you have the right graphics card drivers installed? The alienware M17xR4 are rather beasty however it looks from your setup like its got an Intel HD4000

    Might want to check that the computer is actually set to use the proper gfx card (nvidia probably) that’s in there.



  • I’ve got Nvidia GTX 680M Graphics card I have the Nvidia settins I can change. I think by how well the game runs its using the nvidia card and not the on board, but how can I make sure its not using it?

    Should I just Disable the Other onboard graphics card? they are both showing they are Active and Working Properly?

    Also the Event viewer this is the only error im seeing around the time of my last crash (Just a few minutes ago)

    Event filter with query “SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA “Win32_Processor” AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99” could not be reactivated in namespace “//./root/CIMV2” because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected.
