Inconsistent Crashing.
-
Since the Steam Workshop patch I haven’t been able to play Chivalry for longer than half an hour without crashing. It happens on map change, server connect/disconnect, and even when I’m already playing, the game will just freeze up and UDK.exe will stop working.
I have tried every fix from the Bug List compilation thread but I still have no positive results.
I’m running on a 32-bit system, much like everyone else who has the same problem.
I think it’s amazing that they released Deadliest Warrior despite Medieval Warfare having so many problems.

What are the specifics of the crash you get? I assume it’s the udk process has stopped responding?
Do you get anything in the event viewer logs when the game crashes?

I have the exact same issue. I’m a daily player and it happens maybe every other map randomly, either during a map load, sometimes while I’m in mid-swing during a battle, no particular rhyme or reason. I keep getting “UDK.exe has stopped working” and it either freezes my entire machine or just crashes to desktop with UDK.exe has stopped working.

Report Id: 842fb84b-5e11-11e3-91b8-bcaec5210370I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times, I had this issue on a totally different PC as well. Both rigs were 6-core with 24 GB of RAM, SSDs and 1.5 GB Nvidia cards. Hardware should not be a factor. I’ve deleted just UDK.exe from my steamapps folder in both the 32 bit and 64 bit folders and integrity checked the game to get them replaced. No dice.
I am running 64-bit Windows 7, and I have also tried running the 64 bit version. Same issue applies there as well. It makes it really unbearable and difficult to play for a sustained period of time. I enjoy the game thoroughly but I don’t think I can keep playing it if this is the constant…
