LTS 1 minute wallhack and competitive play

  • In one of the more recent updates there was a change that made it so once there’s 1 minute remaining in a round of LTS, bright orange skulls appear over enemies heads. Now the reason for this feature is so that people don’t hide the entire round and waste time. Sounds completely reasonable in casual play, but once you bring that into a competitive setting things can get pretty unfair.

Once the pseudo-wallhack comes up your archer can pin the enemy down completely; he’ll know when and where the guy will peek out and prefire. Basically once the hacks come on all the tension is lost and you’re pretty much screwed. You can’t move around the map without every enemy knowing your exact position at all time. This just isn’t something that belongs in a competitive setting.

Here’s a few pictures of this happening during a scrim we had today: http://imgur.com/a/pPI6i

Some things that could help refine this system is to either:

    • Add the option to turn the wallhacks on/off in the server files (like you would disable third person)
    • Make the skulls only show up if you’ve been idle for a bit (server setting?)
    • Remove the wallhacks completely

    play TO

  • There should be an option to turn this shit and added respawn timer off for competitive players.

  • I had this suggestion before, make the skulls only show at a certain distance. This means teams can find each other at the 1 min mark, but then allows for ninja to flank when they get closer, and avoiding archer pin, etc.

  • What about showing a slightly outdated (1-5s in the past) version every 10-20 seconds. This way you get the general direction (countering hiding) without giving away the exact position.

  • noone cares about competitive play

    its not a competitive game

  • one tournament after months in an otherwise dead comp scene

    boo fucking hoo

game is casual and not a comp game start accepting it lol, trying to play this game competitive is like special olympics

  • ^^^

Fan made tournament, no winning prize, no developer support or interaction, no sponsors of any kind. I doubt anyone outside of the tournament will even care to watch… if anyone streams.

Not to mention you’re playing one of the most inconsistent online games available.

  • Game is still competitively played. Doesn’t matter if you call Chivalry “Teh lolz” or don’t know the NA comp scene.

  • food competitions are also competitive, but that doesnt make them any less retarded
