Something should be done about little children playing this game…

  • I’m talking about literal children. Not adult people who act like them… I’m talking about real little children…

Some minutes ago I was on a server and there was a 9 year old and his stepfather playing. He was inslting everyone with sexual jokes about our mothers.
Well okay, “adult” people do that too… But a gory game like this for 9 year olds?
What’s even more disgusting is the fact, that his stepfather obviously didn’t care about the words his spetson was using, but that’s not the topic now.

I mean… There should somehow be an agecheck. I don’t mind 16-year old people or so. I know 12 year old guys playing this game, behaving better than most of the “adult” players.

But this… was really disgusting… And I think little boys like that should really be banned from this game… and fathers who let those little guys play it, too…

I know, this thread won’t probably change anything…

But this was a quite disgusting experience in this game.

Another evidence for me how stupid humanity has become.
Maybe I shouldn’t think about it that much. But I feel sorry and sad for that little boy getting raised with cut off limbs and sexual insults, while the stepfather is watching and not doing anything about it…

    I mean… it isn’t even legal, right?

Well… I guess this won’t be the last disgusting thing in this game or in other games. Humanity is disgusting I guess…

But maybe TBS should know, that there is really need to do something against children playing this. It’s inappropiate for the most of them.

    Sorry for my flaming…

  • And you verified he was 9 by what means… this is the internet…

  • @gregcau:

Why would someone lie on the internet?

  • They are better indoors were they can be watched tbh. Out side they form gangs of thugs. They sell drugs and mug people. The days of watching teletubbies and thomas are dead. The new generation would rather slaughter you at video games. ;)

  • Just fake-log in as an admin next time this happens. Usually shuts them up.

  • Doesn’t bother me. Just pubstomp them and make them rage quit or mute. Not that big of a deal, honestly.

  • Somebody was cussing on a server and for a joke I said “hey, knock it off, my 4 year old daughter is watching me play”. Half the server turned into complete turds but a couple actually thought I was serious and started in on me for letting my daughter watch. The community seems incapable of detecting sarcasm.

  • at least it’s not like call of duty where voice chat functions.

  • Eh, I don’t care if kids play games as long as they act fine. But yeah, once they start spewing that kind of crap I make it my goal to ruin their childhood.

  • Funnily enough we have a 12 year old in our clan, and he’s an absolute fucking beast with the messer.

  • @50ShadesofClay:

at least it’s not like call of duty where voice chat functions.

Oh it functions mostly. The only part that doesn’t function now is the part telling you who is talking. So someone can spam voice chat without anyone else knowing who is doing it.

  • I haven’t heard voice chat in a long time in game. It currently seems to be broken. I am betting that they turned it off to improve the netcode…. LOLS But when I hear a kid in the game and his parents are allowing him to play this then I get all super trolly and ask them if they like Popsicles in my basement and that I have a nickle in my pocket. Then I just go all fn disgusting just to corrupt and warp their fragile little minds in hopes that their parents are actually listening and will not let them play ever again. Nothing is worse than hearing some kid’s voice going through puberty… like nails on a chalkboard.

  • They deserve no mercy.

Most of them are spoilt brats anyway. If pretty much the reason they own the game.

WAY worse on consoles. More kids and more mics with games that have 100% functioning voice chat. In chivalry its now clear and doesn’t cut out much. But it still doesn’t work for some. And names don’t show.

Not to mention that anyone with a sane mind to at least some extent has already turned off the voice chat sound a long while ago.

I think turning off voice in chivalry was one of the very first things i did back in October 27 2012.

  • The responsibility of ensuring children are not playing mature rated games e.g. gta5 for example rests squarely with the parents. I’ve long thought that the content of games from a violence point of view is no way near as damaging as the sort of abuse levied by others on the internet.

At the end of the day there is a perception problem - older generations see gaming = children. They don’t grasp that a mature game might be comparable to an 18/R certificate movie.

Some parents still wouldn’t care even if you could beat that info into their heads.

Good example. So many children, so few adults :).

  • I don’t like the idea of restricting games based on your age. When I was growing up, I was exposed to all the original CoD’s, the MoH games, the original Soldier of Fortune, all pretty violent games and I was only 4-5 years old. But you don’t see me masturbating to torture porn now do you :/.

My dad rarely watched me play either, so I just learned on my own. I got it through my head, “Shooting people en mass is NOT acceptable.” Playing violent games could really only possibly trigger bad behavior if the child is mentally unstable already, or traumatized (there are some limits duh. Letting your 5 year old play Manhunt probably ain’t a good idea)

  • It’s not up to TBS to monitor who is playing the game. Chivalry isn’t a free game, so if a parent is just letting their kids buy whatever game they want without checking into it, then that rests solely on them. Even if it’s a free game, parents need to deem what is appropriate for their children.

  • If your really bothered you can report them. Screen shot the chat. Of course the age thing is not reportable but flamers\griefers are.
