  • Some pretty nice CPU OC’s. The previous gen CPU sockets are better for overclocking I guess? Do you really get stable temps @5.2GHz?

  • got stable temps with an open case and voltages near the border

  • Due for an upgrade maybe eh Lemon? Good CPU, crappy graphics card.

You’d get way better performance with a GPU upgrade, say to an AMD Radeon r9 270 for $220. http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=26092&cPath=877 You could also might consider getting an SSD.

Well my graphics card is better than the standard 5670. The standard is 512MB, DDR3 and 775MHz. Mines far better than that. Not even sure why mines still a 5670.

Runs games like chivalry on high settings. Sometimes hits the 62FPS cap. Rome 2 it also runs well having some things on extreme.

But BF4 is a mixture of low and medium.

Any CPU reliant game I can run fine.

  • Well if you’re fine with that performance. Personally, I hate the fps dropping under 60.

Modern GPU such has the r9 270 has 2GB of GDDR5 at over 900MHz, should be able to play very nicely on modern games, maybe even with MSAA.

  • I can’t figure out why my fps drop below 62fps on medium-high settings in Chiv. I think there’s something wrong with my pc. With my specs, it shouldn’t be an issue. In fact, chivalry is the only game where it’s an issue.

  • FPS drops by how much?

I think it’s normal for a games to drop a few fps below their cap, try disabling the fps cap and see what you get. http://steamcommunity.com/app/219640/discussions/0/810922320170111006/

  • With the setup I posted above I have to play on low settings (1080p). I keep dynamic lighting on though because it looks so shit otherwise. I really feel I should be getting better FPS but eh.

Hmm yeah. You have a good cpu, but your gpu is pretty underwhelming; but it’s not BAD. I feel like you should be getting better fps too with that setup. I feel like I should be getting much better performance from my setup as well. In my case, I think it MIGHT be the cpu cooling. It reaches temps of 62-65c at peak load…which isn’t HORRIBLE, but maybe it’s taking a toll on the performance…idk.

  • Wyrda78-I’ve uncapped it before (only months after the game’s release), but I didn’t like the huge drops from say, 120-60 or 50 fps. Since then they’ve boosted performance, so I might give it another shot, that’s not a bad idea, thanks.

He be trolling you. He’s not running the game on low with a low FPS. Not on that setup.
