Alter smoke pots so it prevents the reticle from changing color?

  • Considering the main use of the smoke pot is to prevent the ability to see into or beyond the point where vision is obscured by the smoke, I find it odd that players can still identify enemies and allies by the changing of the color of the reticle when it is over a person inside the smoke. The worst example of this is archers being able to fire at people inside or beyond the smoke that they are unable to see, just because they know to fire when the reticle turns red. This small aspect severely reduces the effectiveness of smoke pots when used against archers. Even without the archer aspect, the ability of any class to tell where an enemy is inside of the smoke negates its effectiveness. So what I am suggesting is that the smoke pots or the reticle be altered so that once the smoke coverage reaches a certain intensity that the color changes in the reticle be prevented.

  • Yep,
And while they’re at it they can buff smoke bomb radius and duration.

Yeah the smoke-pots could also probably use a buff.

  • Yes, needs multiple buffs though besides this:

    radius increase by a lot
duration increase by at least double
switching to smoke pots needs to be faster as well as its throwing animation
range needs to be larger like firepot
fix the shit where hitting uneven terrain or hitting a wall will basically make hardly any smoke come out
needs a lingering “smoke vision” for a second or two so that pushing through smoke is actually dangerous.
they should also be able to extinguish fire on the ground from firepots

    Yes, all of this please!!!

  • Actually it would be really cool if it blurred your screen while you were in the smoke pot range.

  • Blurred the screen slightly and made the crosshair actually disappear would be good. And the voice actors for chiv can have fun caughing and spluttering into a microphone for added immersion.

It would make ranged combat 10 times harder without affecting melee combat much.

  • Simplest solution someone suggested back then for DW was to make the smoke screen be considered enemy for everyone, turning the reticle always red when aiming at it.

  • 100% positive on the poll still XD
We should have done this poll a long time ago.

  • Battlefield 4 has a thing like that where names don’t appear through smoke.

I don’t think I have seen a poll that had a total 100% consensus before.
