    Steam service failed. Make sure the steam client under a user…what??
    My steam is active and i launch this game using steam, what’s going on with this game?

    Seriously, how can i play multiplayer without servers available? Am i supposed to play with BOTS only???

    Yep, it’s not even working smoothly at the start, though i already bought this in hope the gameplay would be funny…but for motherland’s sake, that is not what i expected!

    Don’t bother to ask me “Have you verify integrity if game cache?” cause i already done it twice and nothing to do for fixing those issues above.

    Don’t bother to ask about my system information, because i have a computer that running high end games smoothly, and that’s not from my computer that make those issues,ok?

    Don’t tell me i have to reinstall/redownload this game first in order to see maybe-yet-not the game will be working, i am so sure that i would like to uninstalling this game once and for all if you tell me that. It’s suck to redownload the 7,3 GB game that makes me waiting for 3 hours without disturbing the connection you know.

    I only need a firm solution to make this game working and worth to play, and i expect best customer service from Torn Banner Studio.



  • It seems like your firewall may be preventing steam services…. that would account for the first image and the lack of servers to play on.

    Please make sure you are not running the BETA version of the app. If that isn’t the issue try on of these solutions:

    An anti-virus program is running and blocking required internet traffic from our game to Steam. Ensure that Chivalry is given full permissions through your anti-virus program.

    • It is possible Steam is having issues, restart Steam and try again.

    • Your router NAT table is being overloaded. You can lower the maximum allowable pings in order to see more servers.

    • How to allow for higher pings in Steam.

      • Run the Steam client.
      • Navigate to the Steam menu at the top of the window.
      • Select Settings.
      • Navigate to the In-Game tab.
      • Under the heading “In-Game server browser: Max pings / minute” select “Automatic (1500)”

    For the 3rd issue, can you provide us with the Launch.log with the most recent time stamp located at:
    C:\Users\PCNAME\Documents\My Games\Chivalry Medieval Warfare\UDKGame\Logs

  • I had zero problems until about 3-4 days ago, I can’t play for more than 20-30 min without it freezing, and when I alt tab out steam will have quit. Not “not responding” or frozen, steam just turns itself off if I play chivalry for more than 20ish minutes. I’ve tried forcing 32 bit, validating my steam files, still does this every time.

    So, two issues have been posted to this thread. I’m going to stick to the OP’s issue, or at least one of them; any other issues should be in different threads please and thanks.

    The Steam API is not initializing for some reason. Without the Steam API, much of the game’s functionality will not be available, since this game relies heavily on Steamworks. There are a few things we know of that can fix this:

    1. Ensure you disable any security software, or find out how to except Steam and Chivalry from it
    2. Try closing, and restarting Steam
    3. Ensure you run Steam and the game in non-escalated mode (i.e. don’t “Run as Administrator”); or, do try running both in escalated mode. Never run one in escalated and the other not.
    4. Try uninstalling Steam, then reinstalling it
