Re introduce "The Balance Council"

  • I liked the idea of a well sized council of experienced players who have dumped massive amounts of time into the game to formulate balance decisions and the ability to introduce new mechanics directly to the Developers. These people would look at each perspective without bias and with pure efficiency. Having decently sized group of kind and experienced players will ultimately benefit the general public. I would typically look at players from tempest and some individuals here on the forums who have proven to be very invested into specific changes revolving around balance.

Direct Democracy is useless fluff that the Developers can never possibly balance around and will always result in nonsensical inefficiency. To balance out this “exclusion” of the general player base, an idea might be to hold elections. Runners must meet specific requirements regarding their playing time and expertise in the field of chivalry.

I prefer a system of direct appointment, but if you wish to keep the general populace involved this is the way to go.

This would set up a democratic-republic which would in turn benefit the chivalrous economy we come to know as “Chivalry Medieval Warfare”

The balance council argued with each other and didn’t make any decisions. Half of them didn’t do anything the rest couldn’t agree on much.

TB should then remove members who do not participate actively, and arguments are necessary as some times we have to halt the sludge so we can refine it into purified water. Sometimes gridlock is a safe option.

  • Why do we need 2 threads on this?

    One is a poll

You could have just added a poll to this thread.

    See? This guy gets it

  • No Thanks……

  • Lol, the “balance council” wasn’t listened to at all before. It was a way to appease a discontent clan community and shift blame away from TBS/obfuscate the facts.

The truth is most of the ‘balance’ council had serious problems with the infamous “June patch” but tbs just did it anyway.

Ultimately “balanced” is a matter of perspective, unless they were to come up with some kind of formula for weapon stats, there is no objective metric for a balanced weapon. Most competitive communities in most games have identified stronger than average weapons/heroes/classes and minmaxed them, but still consider the game competitive/balanced at high levels.

I dont think it will get to a point where most people are happy and TBS doesnt seem to have any kind of strong vision for how the game play should feel.

You really think Balance Council was behind most of the changes like CFTP removal and ect?

  • Yes please, we need a balance council.

  • We need a balance council, take players who are in the top competitive clans from both EU and NA, exclude those who have a past of toxicity, take trusted players who have contributed positively in the past or are just very experienced and skilled at the game…

Don’t listen to people who have lesser understanding of the mechanics.

Did you mean “include those who have a past of toxicity”?

Just take to consideration that even though they may be really good at the game, they could be quite clueless to values and ect and not having an understanding of how balances should be made.

What’s better is to have candidate that is not Biased in any way because of main class or whatever, does know how to fight at a top skill level and of course knows how things work with the weapons and ect.
