So I’ve put together a list of all the weapons that can pull off the Guaranteed Flinch(an attack that does 80+ damage that will Flinch in Release) as well as where/how to pull them off.

Seeing it mostly just flinches MAA’s and Archer I would keep it this since they already got realy fast weapons.
-
Thanks for the effort.
Wondering what is TB going to do with that code
-
Hot damn, nice work. TB pls get rid of flinch in release kthx.
But you typed that out on your phone? Da fucque?

Motorola Droid Razr Maxx
Lovely piece of “gorilla” plastic, silicone, and circuitry.
Thing has taken so much punishment from me…
Goddamn I love that phone.
But, I only did the bold/underlined weapon names and indents with my phone.
All the colors and other shits were pretty’d up with this shitty ass PC which actually allows me to use a mouse.

Keep in mind that any attack is guaranteed to flinch you if you are sprinting so MAA and archer weapons are a lot better at flinching you in release.

Great work

I don’t see a problem with flinch in release with 80+ damage.
I do see a problem with flinch in release during sprinting though.

i have to go ahead and agree with this, since going for a trade with most of these attacks/weapons against what it flinches in release… being much faster weapons… yep.

And what about ranged weapons?
-
Guaranteed flinch in release probably. Very fair. Nifty stuff.
-
flinch in parry too
-
flinch in flinch too

I’ve been thinking about this flinch while sprinting thing and perhaps TB planned this as a feature. The “flinch only happens in windup” line may have been an oversimplification of the intended mechanic.
I imagine they came up with the first condition thinking in this vein
“Forget timings, if you are hit sooner by a very powerful attack it should render you incapacitated always” -i.e., you’re flinched in windup or release. Now, the other condition, sprinting, perhaps was thought in this way
“If you are NOT sprinting, you MUST BE in a defensive position, so let’s increase your chances for hittrading because you can delay your attacks -supposedly- better”, and also “If you’re sprinting forward, you’ve taken the initiative, i.e., you pay less attention to defense, therefore it makes sense to stop your attacks if you’re running, i.e., both your feet are not planted in the ground”.I don’t actually agree with this condition, but I can see they might implement such ‘feature’ from the limitations of the engine, to make the pace of a combat a little more realistic.

Only for damage is flinch in release good. Sprinting is bad.

Yeah, I concur. Against super fast weapons a little bit of extra flinch isn’t so bad. Although if we see Archer/MaA nerfs next balance patch that might need to be reconsidered.

No class should get flinched in release.
-
Game lies to face, people consider feature.

I kinda see why 80+ dmg would make you lose momentum thus flinching you even in release but since when is chivalry a 100% real battle game?
Ok how many times did TBS balance properly
