Amount of frames in animations & toggle sprint

  • There’s too few frames in a player animation, such as when sprinting/walking, and swinging their weapon, ducking ,etc. Too few frames, doesn’t look smooth.

Toggle sprint is not a toggle. It’s a ‘‘toggle sprint’’-only for as long as you’re moving, once you stop moving, you have to activate it again once you stop moving, this should not be the case, toggle sprint should make your character sprint whenever you’re moving and as long as you have energy.

  • But that’s how toggle sprint works in practically every other game that features it. It’s there for people who simply don’t want to hold down on their shift key (or other key) for the duration of the sprint, much like the toggle for aiming down the sights in first-person shooters. It makes sense that you’d need to press the key again to reactivate sprint, as that’s not the default movement speed. With your design, there’d be no way you could move forward and walk.

    no
Toggle sprint deactivates sprint when you stand still. The only change I’m suggesting is that toggle sprint basically toggles sprint again once you start moving again, instead of requiring you to click the keybind again.

  • What you want basically is the “always run” option that used to be so prevalent in FPS games of old?

Toggle sprint is aptly named. It does exactly what it says on the tin. It just isn’t what you want, unfortunately.

I suppose, yeah. ‘‘Always run’’. It gets very annoying holding down the sprint button all the time, the finger starts hurting after a while.
