Chivalry: Deadest Game

  • This is what happens when you release a game filled with bugs with no balance or any word from the developers. Bravo.

  • that the reason i didnt buy it

  • only a small minority actually think the mechanics in dw are better, plus when dw was released it was right after a patch made chivalry shitty and tb has still never fixed it so tbh most people don’t even want them to fix dw because nobody cares about it anyways. riposte making sow attacks slower (only wep i used on the match i played on free weekend and i closed that shit and started up MW instead, so its probably other weps too but thats all i can confirm), unbalanced classes etc plus it isnt medieval and medieval is cool

  • Let it stay dead. Focus on MW.

  • rip deadliest warrior, at least you were fun to play in alpha/beta

  • Cmon guys… DW has potential just needs nice update.

  • @Husenica:

People say beta was fun, lets go back to beta!

  • Damn, so no one plays it? Was thinkin of pickin it up, ya know change things up, maybe a lil change of scenery. And I wanna play a samurai soooo bad with Chivs melee… Buuut looks like that aint gonna happen…

I mean some people DO still play it. There is a very VERY small community. The players are nowhere near the caliber of MW, and if i recall correctly, it took TB over a month just to fix a server browser error.

  • Definitely worth picking up. It’s not like you can’t find ppl to play with or enter empty server to make it crowded in minutes.

DW combat is faster and you regenerate HP rapidly outside of combat = pure slaughter.

  • Well I just got it, it was less than 4 bucks on steam so fuck it. The players are nowhere near the caliber of MW players? Niiiice, Imma be wreckin muthafuckas!

  • You obviously haven’t met Cygnus or someone like that.

  • Lots of DW players are just as good as MW players, they just play a different game involving samurais and buttpirates. Stereotyping every player of DW as subpar is something crushed would do, don’t go full stupid. Never go full stupid. Top stupid EU.

  • Honestly I just wanna play as a Samurai. Bushido needs to come out soooon.

  • It’s a dead game compared to CMW, but there are still people playing it. I personally find it great to have a small community. Clans become more present and you recognise players when joining different servers. I’ve also gotten a lot of awesome steam friends from DW by now. I wouldn’t say DW players are worse than CMW players. There is a much larger playerbase in CMW, which obviously brings out more talents in that game, but we are pretty much talking about two different combat styles in these games. If a very skilled CMW player moves over to try DW he will get destroyed by a pretty good DW player most of the time. Not saying that the combat systems are extremely different. I can still tell if a low level player in DW is a cmw “veteran” or not. Every time I am surprised with the level of skill in a low level player I look on their profile and see they have spent a good bit of time in CMW. The same goes for people who play a lot of DW and move over to CMW. I can beat people above my level in CMW, even though I barely ever play it. Some weapons have same animations in the games which makes it easier of course. However, in general I find DW much more fast paced - counterstabbing is very strong in this game (especially for some faster weapons like the ninjato which is way too overpowered atm imo, atleast in the hands of a skilled player who knows how to move the mouse in order to make the attack faster while still being able to land it). Thankfully, there are also less feints from my experience. The huge issue with DW however is that torn banners don’t seem to care about it anymore. A few balance updates would make this game so much better. Also, the possibilities for character customization are pretty much endless if Torn banner were to implement more customization options. That is if there were people interested in working on the game. If torn banner could set up a workshop system like in TF2 where players could create helmets/armor etc. for the game, you would make it less of a work for Torn Banner. The whole customization aspect of DW is one of my favourite differences between that game and CMW. Yes, you can customize in CMW, but for me atleast I find the customization menu much easier to navigate in DW and the whole system easier to understand.

Keep in mind all of this is from my personal experience and it’s not super reliable, but that’s what I feel about the games anyway.

  • Wow, I actually had a lot of fun playing this last night. Played for a few hours without even realizing. It’s kind of refreshing after playin just MW for so long.

And the voice commands are fuckin awesome, really well done.

  • Game is not dead!
There is some true skill on DW too. I actually find after playing DW I became a beast on MW. The constant intense combat has really made me better.

Deadliest Warrior is a really great game, and I still stand by my opinion that 1-2 worthwhile updates could really revive it. It seems so easy to do some of these things! Torn Banner please give us a nod that you still know this game exists!

  • DW was a financial investment. Minimal work effort + Max profit equals lots of cheese pies and maple syrup and one moose barbecue a week.

Why would you want to associate with the DW brand. Its just so stupid and screams “mediocrity meets commercialism”.

You trying to make a Canadian hungry? Cause it’s working.

And I agree with associating with the DW brand. Totally unnecessary, you’re completely right. They should actually rebrand the game if they can. It doesn’t even have ANYTHING to do with the horrid show other than a variety of warriors fighting.

  • DW is a worthwhile game. If you own MW and not DW you’re missing out. Grabbing it on sale is a good way to go, you can get at least a few hours of entertainment. And it’s a nice change of pace from MW. As far as customization goes, we could do with some more for sure. Weapon skins would be nice, just please no stupid polycount weapons like the blazing sun brandistock. Fuck that looks stupid.
