Knight is the most broken and OP class in the game [TB Please fix]

  • No no no. You cannot list foot speed as a pro for knights. They are the slowest class in the game, therefor it is a con. It doesn’t matter if their foot speed is faster than it should be, that just means that their slowness is less of a con, but still not a pro. I also don’t think you can describe the slowest foot speed as “extremely fast” but ill have to check up on that one.

umm, how about fuck that noise. the ease of parrying makes a decent turnrate necessary or you will literally have to feint every attack to hit anyone. parries function currenty as a forcefield requiring more timing than aim which is sad but given that, reducing the turnrate will just make swords suck, and the rest of the arsenal is not that great. Each weapon just has their own particular gimmick.

swords are pretty much the best all around weapon for all 4 classes so that’s just how it is.

To be clear: It’s not a decent turnrate, it’s the best turnrate. Combined with the best range and speed, swords aren’t ‘the best all rounder’ they’re just best, leaving all other weapons redundant and, as you say, gimmicky. In fact that doesn’t even come close to covering the gulf between swords and everything else. The combination of turnrate, speed and range creates all the insane trick moves swords are capable of. None of the other weapons even come close.

Also: all four classes are not the knight. He’s a tin can man, covered in metal and mail and if anyone should be less dextrous with his swords it’s him. Leave the ballet to the squishy men.

  • You only have to look at the number of knights in any public server compared to other classes to realize this is true. Last night my team has 10/12 knights against a team of 9/12 knights. They usually make up at least half of the team (12+ in a 24p server).

The arguments you gave are all pretty shitty though. Knights are OP simply because of their ability to absorb hits, plus a huge arsenal of weapons that will give them the edge in any scenario. And yes, they have convinced TB to nerf every other class to the point where there is almost no use playing any of them outside of competitive.

  • People play knights because they’re the iconic class, not because they’re OP; even the game is named after the knightly code of conduct. Knights are just the vanilla chiv experience, toe-to-toe melee fighting…people like that. All the other classes have gimmicks that make them specialised, so of course knights should be the backbone of a team.

Knights are OP simply because of their ability to absorb hits

Nerfing the ability for a knight to absorb hits would give them the same durability as vanguards, which would be ridiculous because they’re covered in fucking plate armour, so then you’d have to nerf vanguards yada yada. Balance wise the game is in a pretty good spot right now, nerfing knights accross the board would kill the game completely, and you’d be left with a cartoon comedy slasher of vanguards flying across the screen, maa teleporting around and archers camping to get a power trip by ruining everyone’s fun.

On ranks 0-20 maybe (and even that is questionable, I still remember those archer waves of low ranks when there was no server cap). Then you play classes/weapons that are better than others, especially when you are a competitive player.

The current meta is caveman simple - hitrade/gamble. Knight is obviously the best for it, can take the most punishment and hits hard enough.

At level 44, I’ve been playing knight primarily because they don’t feel gimmicky, and are more fun to fight against. Dodge is annoying, tele-charge is annoying, and dealing with ranged is annoying.

The “special abilities” that the other classes have are horrendously designed and no fun to play against.

I never said nerf the knights ability. I’m saying stop nerfing the other classes just because knights find them annoying.

  • Knight is a great class and I won’t pretend that it’s by far the worst like a lot of knight mains will, but I think knight is popular because like harry said, it’s a vanilla experience. Now that Messer is nerfed, it’s a class that can tank damage and dish enough of it out with good use of the mechanics. The other classes are primarily support roles. Maas are distractions, vanguards are damage dealers that use their range to support from further away and to target switch in large clusters, and archers are archers. Knight just fits any roll without annoying the player, which is why I play it personally. I’d play vanguard more but projectiles make them almost useless for me since I’m terrible at dodging them, and maa is boring. Remember, knight is not one class standing atop a mountain of others, there are only 2 other melee classes in this game lol.

  • yeah but archers rek knights all day long with flying mauls

Dont pretend like it was some knight conspiracy to nerf archers. Every melee class wanted that because they were and still are too powerful for how easy it is to hit people.

Too powerful because muh feels. Objectively speaking they are underpowered. If you want to mop up in a game you play van or knight.

    They aren’t. Objectively speaking.

  • It was the crossbowmen who got bowmen nerfed.

  • @lemonater47:

Next the Javelineers will nerf the crossbowmen.

And then sling will rule the nest.

  • Calling it now, sling nerfs incoming.

  • I’ve seen a different trend popping up quite a bit.

  • People usually pick the class/weapon that they see others do well with, yesterday I got a lot of people to switch to falchion MAA. At least it made them even easier to kill, hue.

Exactly what happens when I pick maul.

When I join the game no one has a maul. Next game after I used the maul a bit.

    Everyone has mauls.

Um like you had a TM in your clan name? Dream on girl.

Lol wtf? Completely out of no where and off topic. Yes we did have the TM in our clan tag. We removed it because some games were still using bloody ANSII encoding for player names which either kicked us or gave us a default name.

What does all this have to do with people copying your loadout when you do well with it?
