    Summary:
    Region: NA (North America)
    Friendly Fire: 100%
    Third Person: Disabled
    Modifications: N/A
Class Balance: 50% rule (1 Archer Limit)
Duel: One vs One for side
Map Selection: Stoneshill, Dark Forest, Outpost
    Projectiles: Single Firepot Limit.
Tournament Format: 2 Groups of 4 and 1 Group of 3. Top 2 teams in each group advance to the brackets.
Winning Conditions: Teams will play the map both attacking and defending. Most progress wins. If the progress is the same, then the team with the fastest completed objective time wins. If all else fails, Best 2 out of 3 rounds of 5v5 LTS on Moor.

Spectators: Spectators are not allowed. The only people allowed in the server during a match are the players, refs, and streamers. It is the responsibility of the team to make sure they have no members of their roster or a merc in the server when it starts. If that person is AFK, please ask the ref to check and get rid of them. If a spectator is found to have been in the match, that team will forfeit that match.

Referees: To Be Decided. However if you want to be a referee just ask in the thread. Referees will not be allowed to referee their own matches. Decisions by The Council of Absurdity will be final. However if you believe another referee made an incorrect call, come to the cohost in charge of your match (will be found on the schedule) and it will be worked out. A referee must take a screenshot of the final score between the two teams and either give it to either the cohost in charge of that match or post it in the tournament thread on the TBS forums with the score and participating teams.

In-match Rules: Execute good sportsmanship. No trash-talking, trolling, whining, or complaining. Basically don’t be a jerk. You will get one warning. If you do any of these things again you will be banned from the server. If two players are ejected from the same team then that team automatically forfeits the match. In the event of a disconnect or lag spike, if the team can’t sort it out within their remaining pause time and they have no substitute, the match will result in the forfeiture of that team.

Time: November 15th and 16th. If need be, any matches left will be played on the following weekend. The first match will start at 2:00PM EST November 15th. (This is subject to change if the starting time can’t accommodate many people). A schedule will be available at the start of the TBS forum post.

Roster & Roster Time Limit: Rosters may be changed up to November 14th 11:59PM PST. If you’re found to break this rule, please revert back to the old roster/team, or you will be DQ’d. The match will be played with six players. Each team will be allowed a single mercenary (a substitute not already on any rosters) per match in-case someone is unable to play. You may put as many players on your roster as you’d like up to 25 players. Substitutes are not allowed to play for any other team nor are they allowed to make their own team. In order to sub a new player in, post the substitution in chat. If you feel it necessary, please call for a pause from the ref to ensure the substitution goes smoothly.

    Who is signed up:

    Bellator (ℬ)
    Equilibrium (εq)
    Faucheur (ƒ)
    Genesis (Gen)
    God (ƓŏƉϮ)
    Hardwire (~Hardwire~)
    Legion (Lg)
    Mystic (₪)
    Nemesis (ηεм)
    Tempest (Ŧ)
    Valor (ѴɅL)

Disqualification (DQ): If your team does not show up within the 5 minute grace period after the match is scheduled, the rest of the time waited will be subtracted from the team’s pause time. If the pause time runs out, then that team is disqualified.

The tournament directors (The Council of Absurdity) are allowed to change the rules as they see fit.

    Complete Rules:

    1. Registration

    • Registration will take place on the forums. Post in this thread with your clan/team name, preferred server location, captain & roster. The captain will serve as a liason between the tournament staff and your team.

    • Each clan must be comprised of individuals actually on the roster of that team.

    • The deadline for roster changes or new teams is November 13th, 11:59PM PST. If you try to change your roster after the deadline you will be given the chance to change your roster back to what it was originally. If you fail to revert your roster, your team will be removed from the tournament and taken off the brackets.

    • The match will be played with six players. Each team will be allowed a single substitute in-case someone from their main lineup is unable to play. You may put as many players on your roster as you’d like (minimum 6) that are actually a part of your respective team. Substitutes are not allowed to play for any other team nor are they allowed to make their own team. In order to sub a new player in during the match, post the substitution in chat. If you feel it necessary, please call for a pause from the ref to ensure the substitution goes smoothly.

    2. Scheduling, Attendance and Score Reporting

    • A schedule will be posted once the brackets are finalized that will detail the times that teams will play and what server they will play on.

    • Each match must have at least one non-playing referee present. Otherwise the match does not count. The referee must take a screenshot of the final score and post it either in this thread (with score & teams involved) or submit it to a tournament director through some other method and have them confirm reception of it.

    • The matches will be played at the scheduled times. If the previous matches for the server have finished early and both teams are ready before the scheduled time, they can agree to talk to the cohost responsible for their match and start the match early. If the match starts later than expected, the five minute grace period begins as soon as both teams have been given the go ahead.

    • Teams are only allowed to play the players that are on that team’s roster and a maximum of one mercenary (a substitute who is not on any roster for any team in the tournament) per match. Mercenaries, once employed, may only play for one team throughout the tournament. If a team attempts to field a roster that doesn’t meet these requirements, they will be disqualified from the tournament. They may play the rest of their games out for fun under the understanding that tournament resources will prioritize other games

    • Each team will be advised to make the check-in time scheduled 10 minutes before the match takes place. If a team is not ready within the 5 minute grace period of when the match is scheduled to take place, pause time will begin to be subtracted from the offending team. When that team runs out of pause time, they will be disqualified.

    • The seeding/group selection will be randomized.

    3. Server

    • Server location will be decided by the preferred location set during registration, and the number of players from each region.

    • All matches will be played on the server assigned by the schedule unless the teams agree to use another server that meets all the server conditions. The server will then have to be investigated by a ref/cohost and have the ref/cohost given the admin password.

    • The admin password for each server will be changed and given to the ref for the duration of the match.

    • Each server will have to have all settings specified by the rules in place.

    • A team may, at any point before or between matches, opt to change to a tournament provided server or, if also agreed upon by the other team, another server that satisfies all the conditions above. A 5 minute transition grace period is allowed for the server switch.

    • A referee must verify that all game settings for that server are in keeping with the tournament’s game settings.

    4. Connection Issues

    • If a team suffers connection issues they will be allowed to use pause time (see Section 9: Timeouts) to sort the problem out.

    • If a player has a ping above 105 before the match begins, then the map will be changed to the map that will be played on and the teams will be asked to go to the middle and fight the other team, focusing on the player with a ping of 105 or greater. If the team agrees that it is playable, then that player can play so long as their ping doesn’t consistently spike or the refs notice multiple desyncs and instances of lag. The other team can, at any time, ask the team with the high-ping player to find a substitute for any reason. If this occurs, then there will be a 5 minute grace period for the team with the high-ping player to find a substitute. Any additional pause time will be subtracted from the team looking for the substitute.

    • If a person(s) has a lag spike or desync, that player will be issued a warning. After two warnings, the third violation will result in that player being ejected from the game.

    5. Settings

    • Third person is disabled and not allowed.

    • Friendly Fire will be set to 100%

    • Tournament Mode Enabled

    6. Maps

    • The maps will be predetermined. You will be able to view them on the schedule. The following maps will be played (subject to change):

      • Stoneshill
      • Outpost
      • Darkforest

    7. Class Balance

    • 50% Rule: No more than half of a team’s composition can be the same class.
    • 1 Archer Limit
    • 1 Firepot Limit

    8. Spectators

    • Spectators are not allowed.

    9. Timeouts

    • Each team will be allowed 10 minutes of pause time over the course of the entire match starting when both teams have readied up. If the pause exceeds 10 minutes or the player(s) is/are still unable to play, then that team is disqualified.

    10. Format and Winning Conditions

    • Each team will play the predetermined map twice, once defending and once attacking. The team that progresses farther on offense or, if equal progress is made, the team that completed the objectives in a faster time wins. If the match is rendered too close to call by any of the officiating refs, then the match will be decided by tiebreaker: best 2 out of 3 rounds of LTS on Arena. If the Grand Finals go into a tiebreaker, then the teams will play until one team has won 2 more rounds than the opponent.

    • DarkForest: The third objective progress is only measured by if the sluice gate goes down or not, not by whoever got closer to getting the door down. The last objective progress prioitizes the following: Killed Kings Family -> Doors broken -> Progress made on Doors

    • Stoneshill: The last objective progress is only measured by if the king is killed or not, not by whoever did the most damage to the king.

    • Outpost: The first objective progress is measured by amount of tents burnt collectively on both sides. The last objective progress is determined by whoever completes the most out of the two objectives. Each objective (chieftains and tower) are weighted equally. Progress is made on the chieftain objective by killing the chieftain (not just harming him).

    11. Tournament Progression System

    • This tournament will consist of a group stage where two groups of four teams and one group of three teams will play on Saturday. The brackets will take place on Sunday.

    • In the group stages, the top two teams of each group will advance.

    • If there are two teams in the same group both have an equal record, the team that defeated the other team during their match will be ranked above the other team.

    • If there are more than two teams in the same group who have all beaten eachother that are tied, then the refs will assign a point value to all the games those teams played.

An example of this (only using 3 teams for simplicity’s sake. Matches vs Team D would be included if this were more than merely an example):
Match 1: Team A finishes DF Objective 3 on offense and Team B is DNF’d on Objective 1 (Score: 10:3)
Match 2: Team B gets to the King 8 minutes faster than Team C who also gets to the King. Neither King dies (Score: 10:9).
Match 3: Team A is DNF’d on DF Objective 2 while Team B completes the map with 3 minutes to spare (Score: 10:4).

    Team A: 15 pts. Team B: 13 pts. Team C: 17 pts. Team C advances.

The scores would be subjective unfortunately, but should be weighted in terms of progression first. Note that Team A got a bit more than 3 times as far than team B so their score is a bit more than 3 times as much. Team B and Team C were close, but eight minutes on the second objective is still a while so it isn’t quite a 10:9. Team B got a bit over twice as far as Team A, hence a 10:4. The hope is that it won’t come down to this, but it is the best solution given the unique progress/time nature of Team Objective.

    12. Cheating

    • Any individual caught hacking/cheating (this includes ghosting) will have their entire team expelled from the tournament.

    • Any individual caught map glitching or exploiting will be either penalized or warned based on their actions.

    • Any individual caught dodging out of flinch into attack will be warned twice and then ejected from the match.

NOTE FOR ROSTERS: You will need to link the steam profiles of everyone on your roster. If you need help doing this hit me up while I’m online and I’ll help with the formatting.

  • Single MAA limit seems odd to me. Surely you mean single firepot? 3 MAA is pretty awful, and 2 MAA with 1 firepot doesn’t really seem outstandingly superior (if at all) to single MAA?

It says single firepot, not single MAA. Can’t u read? You’re obviously the dumb one here…

No one notice that I accidentally said single MAA instead of single firepot cuz I’m dumb…

  • Wish we could get another all melee tournament. That’d be kewl.

  • all melee no throwables might be fun

  • Yeah, but not as fun as firepots, throwing axes and arrow shaped mauls

  • 3 days left to sign up and we have one team? or did I miss something and we’re suppose to sign up somewhere else? lol

  • Height can we push this a week? Not many teams have signed up and I know a lot of people who have conflicts.

  • I think that would be a very good idea, Mystikkal. A lot of people don’t even know this is going on either. The Invitational 1 had more promotion surrounding it via Reddit and such.

  • The date was selected by all the people that attended the cohost meeting. The week after that is mid terms for most students. The week after that is thanksgiving weekend. The week after that was said to be too long from now. We’ll see how many teams sign up. But, my guess will be that like every tournament, we get enough for a tournament right before the clan deadline.

    EDIT:

This is actually not really true… The only reddit post listed was the one the day before the tounament. I also have contacted representatives from every clan (save for one who I overlooked somehow but added last night and sent a message to today). The Invitational I contacted fewer teams actually.

The reason we are doin the signups a week before is because we need to know how many teams will enter before we can determine a lot of the rules/format of the tourny.

    I mean, I already have 11 confirmed teams …

  • Valor maybe you have enough for 2 teams?

In that case, those clans need to get to it, chop chop! nem included lol, I might just have to post the roster myself.
