Yes, this is a thing and flinch is not the cause (well, ripostes can’t be flinched anymore anyway).
It doesn’t happen manually, it’s a rare bug.

Got it recorded a while ago, pretty weird. I was riposting while flinched, so that might have something to do with it.

and people say you can caveman riposte all day!
