Sword lengths
-
On the one handed swords for MAA, I’m sure they used to state they were different lengths… and that they are, but when choosing it says all three are the same length is this just a bug?
-
Those values are all horribly inaccurate on most of the weapons, don’t go by those values. Look for a damage speadsheet.
-
-
Will they ever fix it in game then? Would make it kinda easier
-
It won’t be fixed, you’ll eventually learn the weapons. Broadsword for range and slight damage advantage, Norse sword for slight speed adv, Falchion for shits and giggles.
-
Falchion is awesome, you just have to play it like you play with axes/maces.
-
You can also play shieldfalchion like you play shieldhammer.
The lookdown overheads’ windup have no animation. It’s cheap, but it’s something I’ve seen someone do effectively.
-
Interesting, I haven’t given the Falchion a go in quite a while. Warhammer on the other hand can be very effective.
-
Wasnt there a spreadsheet that showed the size of the weapons in an X x Y x Z fashion?
-
overall reach is affected by footspeed as well. Just want to throw that in there.

True but at the very least I’m very interested in the actual length of the models of all the weapons. I could swear I saw one of the many spreadsheets out there with a section called “actual weapon size” and it was stuff like broadsword: 80x10x5 or something like that.

Don’t forget release times.
-
Don’t forget windup times.
reach of weapon = (windup+release)*(footspeed) + weapon length
Weapon length is probably the least of this equation, considering it is an addition variable.
-
I didnt realize someone added lengths, cool.
-
lets not forget to add windup+release+footspeed+length of weapon+ weapon shockwave damage.

As well as the animation themselves. Sword stabs start out farther than pole arm stabs, making the early reach farther and the ending reach shorter.
