Checkpoints



  • I am making a platforming map and was wondering how individual players would have checkpoints?



  • a trigger volume would detect a player entering a new area and move the spawn points accordingly

    you would probably have to have a trigger volume for each individual player tho, along with the rest of the code

    How do I set respawn time to 2 seconds?
    I have set minimum spawn time to 2 seconds but its always 7

    Lol, seemed like a cool new title reskin.
    Did you forget to set up the gamemode, perhaps?



  • Thanks It was the game mode which was set to AOCEntry

    BUT NOW it is set to AOCFFA on every setting and when I load up my map I have no body or hands
    and the bots are invisible but I can still collide with them
    and I can double jump for some reason
    there’s no gui or anything



  • Something is wrong
    everytime I save my map, AOCEntry appears in the world info and I cannot remove it. Even if I remove it and save again it re appears

    If I test my map, in the console it says “Game class is ‘UTGame’” even though I have never selected that game type…
    and the map plays in UTGame mode

    Doing things for individual players in Kismet is a gigantic pain in the buttocks. Spawnpoints are also messy to play around with and can’t be set per player. I guess you want this for if you fall off in X area you spawn at Y point? You’d probably be better off using a trigger volume to see if a player has fallen into it and then teleport them rather than letting them die and actually respawning. If you moved spawnpoints around people would definitely end up spawning in the wrong places sooner or later.

    And about that falling in X area and spawning in Y using trigger volume, why have I not thought of that

  • I am having another problem. These bsp walls use chivalry’s materials but if I cook my map and play the level in game
    there are no textures even though the textures are showing in the editor.
