Linux memory leak



  • Hi Torn Banner devs,

    I understand from this in the Steam community post that you’re working on it: “The current crashes are being worked on!” but is there any vague ETA? Is this something I should expect to be fixed in the next few days, weeks or months?

    The reason I’m asking is because I want to know how often to check these forums. Having the game reliably crash every hour, as you may imagine, is very irritating.



  • I’m having periodic crashes in Linux too.

    Software:
    I’m on Ubuntu 14.04 x64 using Steam.
    My window manager is AwesomeWM.
    I’m using the binary Nvidia drivers.

    uname -a
    3.13.0-24-generic #47-Ubuntu SMP Fri May 2 23:30:00 UTC 2014 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

    Hardware:
    Core i5 2500K
    6GB RAM
    Nvidia GTX 660

    Symptoms that might be relevant:
    I notice a bunch of green jpeg-like artefacts when starting a map.
    Frame rate is quite low when not running in windowed mode.
    Periodically the game crashes to desktop– this seems to be regular.

    I ran the game from a console and was able to get this error out of it when it crashed:

    terminated by signal SIGSEGV (Address boundary error)
