    UGC Data

We would also like to share the following data on the Customization Store, in order to help guide players on gaps in content offerings - so that you’re better equipped to decide what UGC to create next. We are constantly trying to keep customization offerings diverse to our players. If you make a high quality piece of work for a less represented class or weapon, it’s more likely to make it into Chivalry, sooner. The following charts represent the distribution of items - this is not sales data.

    Classes
Knight and Vanguard are clearly dominating the class-specific items, without as much love for the Archer and MAA.

    Bundles/sets
There are more options for item bundles (i.e. bundles including 1 helmet & 1 weapon) than single items. This chart does not mean that single items sell better - but that there are fewer bundled sets than individual weapons in the Customization store.

    Team distribution
For content accepted into Chivalry so far, we’ve maintained a very even mix between Agatha- and Mason-only content, as well as stuff open to either side. We plan to maintain this ratio moving forward.

    Weapon spread
In the below chart, the bottom axis shows the number of variants per weapon type. The Spear, Broadsword, Norse Sword, Longsword & Messer have the most variants, while many weapons - including Warbow, Crossbow, Hatchet, Polehammer, Short Sword and others - have none available yet.

    What’s next?

We plan to release three more UGC update packs over the course of Summer 2015. Each pack will contain 3-4 weapon and helmet sets and 5-6 individual weapons. The data above includes what we plan to release in these three packs as well as all previous content - to give a complete sense of what our current offerings will be.

We also hope to share some general sales figures in the near future, to demonstrate what item types are selling better than others.

To sum: study the charts above and take an informed approach to designing new weapons and helmets for Chivalry. Quality of modelling and execution of concept are just as important as ensuring that your UGC items have a relevant, competitive position in the Customization store.

Thanks everyone for your hard work - keep up the incredible Chivalry Workshop submissions!

  • Doesn’t the Weapon Spread chart include bundled items?
Because if it does count them, Crossbow shouldn’t be set to 0.
The Hawkeye set included a Crossbow for the regular one, if I’m not mistaken. Or is that the 1 Light Crossbow?

  • but there is just 1 zweihander model in game now, why is there 2 in the last chart???

and 1 halberd in the game but 3 in the chart?

And 1 poleaxe (Leo Set) in the game too, but 0 in the chart.

  • I think the chart is a bit confusing after giving it a good look. Perhaps a 2 tone chart would be more clearer. Red is already added and blue is soon to be added?

  • Picture from elwebbaro in Polycount.

  • Do you have the power to strip weapons and/or helmets from submitted helmet+weapon sets and bundle them with other items? Thanks.

  • @Rickyvs: Yeah, I believe the Hawkeye is the one light crossbow there.

@Ivenend: That chart includes all released content AS WELL AS the content that we’ve approved for release in the next few bundles. That’s why it doesn’t match 1:1 to what’s visible in game. The poleaxe is probably an oversight, thanks for the correction :)

@Oilystool: You’re right, that would probably have been a bit clearer, but in the end it shouldn’t matter too much for you guys since all those pieces will eventually be released.

@Grabbity: We do have that power but we try not to split things too much or recombine them. There are exceptions (if there are 4 items in a set for instance we may separate that into 2 sets of 2) but we typically try to keep the sets that you guys create.

So does that mean that the future content on this list is already locked in and has a schedule to be implemented? Or is it foreseeable that you guys will add and take things out of these patches, based on whats been submitted?

Also is there a possibility that you guys will uncouple helmets and weapons from sets? Like lets say you have a good short sword, but the helmet does not fit? Would it be possible you guys might add the stuff individually as well?

Also any chance to include decals as part of a set? I think it could be cool to include them to either compliment the two items or just a sigil to show you are using a specific weapon makers coat of arms.

It’s fairly locked in, but we’ll be doing our next round of assessment of the workshop well before it’s all released.

This is possible, and we’ve done it on a few sets. We try to keep things together, but if one asset is really good in an unimpressive set, we’d rather have the good one than neither.

We currently have no support for this.

  • Excellent, thanks for the quick reply.

  • Just asking… what’s the maximum amount of items that can be included in one bundle? Only two? I’m thinking of putting together a helmet, a primary and a secondary weapon.

  • Talked to TB about this a while ago and they prefer sets with 2 items. If you make say 4 items, you can split them in two individual sets.
