Problem ! Setting up Chivalry Dedicated Server



  • Hello Guys,

    i am having some problems with my own dedicated server.

    What i’ve already done :

    • Installed Windows Server 2012 on a machine
    • Installed Chivalry Medieval Warfare Dedicated Server Tool via Steam
    • Portforwarded the Ports 7777,7778 & 27015 at my Router AND my Firewall (also tested with deactivated Firewall)
    • Changed the PCServer-UDKGame & PCserver-UDKEngine (only edited the servername and set Admin-Password)
    • Created a Shortcut of UDKLogging.exe and edited the properties (for example : AOCTO-Stoneshill_P.udk?steamsockets -seekfreeloadingserver)
    • Also checked the multihome thing, which doesnt work either

    So now the Server is running and i can connect from my personal computer.
    But the Server does not show up in the server list AND friends cant connect to my server.
    I can connect with opening the console and : open [MY.IP]

    I tried many different versions (Youtube-Videos and Google-Tutorials) but nothing works.
    I dont know what to do next.
    Anyone has some tipps for me ?

  • I’d suggest just trying different ports, just incase.
    7877 and 7878 per example, along with 27020.
    Let them try via console as well, let us know what error they get.

    I tried it now with the Port 7877, the Peer Port 7878 and the Query Port 27020.
    Same faults as before.
    I can connect via : “open xxx.xxx.xxx.xx:7877”. The only thing that is weird, is that the server is now shown on the Lan-Section of the Server-Browser. (with the other Ports the Server was not on the Lan and not on the actual Server-Browser Tab).

    If my friends try to connect through my invitation over steam or through typing in the same thing in the console as i did, they cannot join. They dont get a message or something. It just happens nothing.
    Of course they also cannot see my server in the Server-Browser.

  • That definitely means the ports aren’t forwarded.
    Make sure there is no other firewall in between you and the internet.
    Also post the log + commandline here if you please.



  • Ok ill post PCServer-UDKEnginge.txt, PCServer-UDKGame.txt and pictures of my Router.
    I think theres no problem on the router itself, because ive done everything like every other guy trying to forward ports with this special router.
    Antivirus isnt installed (new installation of the server) and firewall is out (also made new rules with the ports)

  • Maybe i got the Problem.

    My Router Fritz!Box 6490 uses for IPv4-Adresses a DS-Lite-Tunnel.
    And only is connected to the WAN with IPv6.

    So if i want to set up a Server i would have to call the support of my Internet provider and ask for IPv4-Adresses ?
    Did i got it right ?
    Or is it possible to set up a Chiv Server with IPv6 ?

    And sorry for my bad english :P

    I think it should be IPv4 yeah.
    Not sure if it has IPv6 support, i doubt it.
