Mirage PAX West Gameplay Video

  • Developer

Mirage: Arcane Warfare is at PAX West all weekend in Seattle - starting today! We’ve packed more magical carnage into a single Mirage video than ever before - so enjoy these 12 minutes of death.

We’ve put together this highlight clips reel of raw gameplay footage from the PAX West Alpha build of Mirage. It features two never-shown-before maps, including the two-stage Team Objective Map, Bazaar, and a Point Capture map called Sunken City.

You’ll also get a look at five of Mirage’s six character classes, who can swap ability loadouts to be customized for any combat encounter.

Sign up for the Mirage Closed Alpha, coming later in September.

Can someone rep Chivalry at PAX next year?

  • I honestly wasn’t expecting Mirage to look as cool/fun as it does. I definitely plan on buying it, and hopefully it eventually finds its way to console(and hopefully ported by TB themselves).

  • Wait. Why why the Azar alch yelling “Bashraaaan” here?

  • @Skindiacus Going to assume that Azar alch voice isn’t done yet.

  • @Gauntlet Oh. Yeah that makes sense.

  • Looks better than expected. Heavy on the abilities though, when I’d prefer a bit more melee.

  • @Naleaus Honestly, the abilities seem to have quite long cooldowns.

  • I hope you all are not focusing on capture the points because of overwatch and laziness. Over watch copied plants v zombies\team fortress and poorly at that. Your not blizzard, you can’t churn out a copy paste and win. So I would recommend staying with what people love, team objective.

I like most of what iv seen, another thing I hope there is a wide variety of weapons for each class as well as unlocks (to a lesser extent. It really adds to replay ability having multiple weapons to master\tinker with.

Another note that may just be part of alpha, player size looks small. Please do not go with a smaller player count per map. If anything we need maps with even more players. Again DO NOT COPY OVER WATCH. PVZ of which it is based has 32+ player team objective maps all day, gardens and graveyards.

I don’t mean to be harsh, I love torn banner. This game looks great but I had to put in my 2 cents.

  • @BandOfTheHawk Despite how weirdly you worded your post, I kind of agree with you.

“We make the objectives actually tied to dramatic and cinematic events that truly matter. You see the scale of things that are happening. So, a medieval army wouldn’t go into a village and raise a flag to capture it,” - Steve Piggott

I know it’s probably far too late to be changing around objectives, but what happened to that?

I hope you all are not focusing on capture the points because of overwatch and laziness.

I doubt it, tbh. There’s probably a better explanation.

I also agree about having multiple/more weapons per class. Although very few disagree with that, so I probably don’t have to explain my position.

  • @BandOfTheHawk Mirage has much more in common with Chivalry than other game. We’re not trying to “copy” any games, though we do have a number of Mirage-themed objectives and game modes that are common in other FPS games. You’ll note that Chivalry has many “standard” game modes, such as Team Deathmatch, Payload Escort, Capture Points, etc., just flavoured to suit the game.

Mirage is being balanced for 6v6.

  • @Reithur so what flavor is it ?

Sorry for coming off crude, what was chivalry balanced for? I doubt it was 32 man TO. Yet people still love it.
