Performance Issues

  • So I got Chivalry: Medieval Warfare. It looks great and all (I loved the source mod too).

But I noticed when playing, I can rarely get more than 40 frames a second. I found this strange because as far as I know, I exceed the recommended system requirements for the game by far.

These are the system requirements I found on another website:

    _Minimum system requirements

    OS: Windows XP
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz or AMD Athlon X2 2.7 GHz
    Memory: 2 GB RAM
Graphics: ATI Radeon 3870 or higher, Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT or higher. 512MB VRAM.
    DirectX®: 9.0c
Hard Drive: 7 GB HD space
    Other Requirements: Broadband Internet connection

    Recommended system requirements

    OS: Windows 7 64-bit
Processor: Intel Core i3-530 or AMD Phenom II X2 565 or better
    Memory: 6 GB RAM
Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GT 640 1GB / Radeon HD 4850 1024 MB DirectX 11-compliant card
    DirectX®: 9.0c
Hard Drive: 7 GB HD space
    Other Requirements: Broadband Internet connection_

    I’m playing with ati HD6970s in duo crossfire, a core i5 2500, 12gb of RAM, a 1000gb hard drive and 64 bit windows 7.

I would like to know if this is normal for the game or not. If not, I would really appreciate it if someone could help me get better performance out of the game.

Thanks in advance for any responses :D

  • Sounds like a driver problem, don’t know what else it can be. I assume you already tried disabling crossfire and multi-display performance mode.

Yeah, I’ve updated my drivers, disabled crossfire, disabled multi-display mode and confirmed both my cards are working when in crossfire.

Right now I’ve noticed it’s all my games that are getting low frame rates. I’m trying defragging, scanning for malware and managing my start up applications.

    I’ll see how it goes…

  • Game does not support Crossfire, yet.

  • A lot of people are having performance issues, best we can do is hope they are smoothed out.

After defragging and reinstalling. I found that Chivalry runs slightly better with crossfire disabled, not much but it’s noticeable.

I’m still finding it hard to reach that magic 60+ frames though

I have 670 SLI and can achieve 120FPS alot of times, but at random times my FPS Halfs, as does my GPU usage. SO there is something up.
