What's happened to CMW/Mirage?
-
So I used to play this game regularly back in 2012-13, have played every so often for a couple of years after that. Any long time players left who wish to let me know if this game is dead, I don’t recognise any old faces on these forums except for Loin, have they all jumped ship/left?
Is CMW not being supported much anymore? I’ve seen player count for the new game is averaging around 30 online, seems a bit disappointing, is it the end for tornbanner?
-
@gndo console has no support what so ever
-
@gndo Chivalry on PC is still being supported. We are not able to support Chivalry on consoles; Activision is resposible for those versions.
Many forum members left for unmoderated internet forums where they could post what they please.
Mirage has been released on Steam and just had a free weekend, though this is almost over.
Torn Banner is not “ending”.

@Reithur Can Unreal Engine or Hardsuit Labs support or update console Chivalry? Or can they do anything?
-
@KNIGHT-0f-NIGHT Unreal Engine is the engine that CMW runs on. It is a tool used for designing games. As for Hardsuit labs, they could most likely create an update for console Chivalry, however they would have to go through Activision. And as we have seen, that is practically near-impossible seeing as Activision could care less about CMW for the console version.
We’re practically stuck with what we have :/
-
@C4KE-from-SP4C3 @Reithur Do you think we could reach out to Hardsuit Labs to ask or request activision to update or fix it?
-
@KNIGHT-0f-NIGHT There’s not going to be an update, suck it up and deal with the truth.
-
@KNIGHT-0f-NIGHT Probably, yeah. But then they’d have to message Activision about it, but I guess it is worth a shot depending on what Hardsuit Labs actually did with CMW
-
@Tatonix Atleast im trying 🙂
@C4KE-from-SP4C3 Ok, we may be one step closer.
-
@reithur you should send another email to activision and one to Hardsuit for there help to contacting activision. And tell them of our missing servers and we need an update. PLEASE
-
@C4KE-from-SP4C3 Don’t port updates require that game companies responsible for creating the game, have to send update information and money for porters in order to have them be able updating? So if TB creates the game, how can they have absolutely no rights to a game when they pay money to a console porter. You guys must have control to the updates and in order to pass them to the console, you would need to pay a company to put it there. Activision are money fags but why would they turn down this for if they are being paid to do so? Hardsuit labs have made a good amount of actually good supported games. If Hardsuit/Activision were to just slap this game to the digital store and freely update it, they would be out of business. And if they were to update it, how? With supply drops? They can’t do that because it’s not their game. don’t forget that TB also gets money from the game sales here. And if not… How can you have no rights to your creation?
-
@CypressInstinx Yeah, they do. If TB had the rights to CMW on Xbox One then they would have to pay Microsoft to allow the update to even go through to the Xbox One. However since Torn Banner gave Activision the rights to port their game over to Console, that makes Activision legally responsible for it. It’s their choice whether they want to update it or not, which I feel they should but they most likely will not.
The update we want is to fix the broken hitboxes, have the game optimised to 60fps or at least how the PS4 version of CMW is optimised. And finally, better servers to decrease lag and packetloss. Maybe some people want supply drops xD
-
@C4KE-from-SP4C3 then where is hardsuit in all of this?
-
@Reithur read what were saying and reply
-
I think your find them on discord the new club. https://discord.gg/WdhpHdk
-
@Wilt what is that?
-
its a channel on discord with text threads or voice if you want to join those. the developers are in that etc
-
@Wilt i shall stalk reithur
-
@C4KE-from-SP4C3 I can’t see how PAYING a Company to PORT a game to console can completely cut ties with the community and developers
-
Has anyone played 7 Days to die? And have you been on their forums? Their game is ported in the same case as Chivalry, and their update notifications give alot of details on them getting it to their porter companys to PS/Microsoft.
