Ability to deflect a projectile with a well timed slash

  • Extremely well timed. What say you, knights?

  • What? How does that even make sense? What weapon do you have that could accurately block an arrow? What if it’s aimed at the legs? We aren’t jedi here!

  • I don’t like, too gimmicky, sorry.

I will however, quench your thirsts with this video and hope it will satisfy you enough:

    BESTEST WEAPON EVER

  • I can see something needed to be done so that you’re not a big barnwall as you close in on an archer. Ducking and jumping are one option that helps, as is slight serpentine motion. But I also imagine that turning your body perpendicular to the archer and stepping to the side as a good way to close distance which you can’t do in this game. That kind of sucks because IRL you’d be able to still keep track of the archer as your body is perpendicular, but as it is you’re Batmaning it and can’t turn your neck independently of your torso.

Arrow parrying seems to be a good alternative? I mean, the game isn’t exactly realistic. Either that, like I’ve been saying, give everyone the ability to dash. Make the animation for the dash also turn your body horizontally (to help avoid vert slices!), give it to everyone, but make the cost and distance covered in heavy armor 2x and 1/2 respectively (1.5x and 3/4 for medium armor).

fake edit re: Samurai - yes! Make the arrows go faster but let people parry. Totally said this before, too. Make it a really small window (in 3D and in time) to parry.
