Funny tip for you guys

  • If you crouch and look down, your character body ‘collapses’ into the ground, making your hitbox waaay smaller than just crouching and looking straight ahead.

I’ve dodged countless attacks by doing this when I feel like I won’t get a swing in before enemy’s attack.

    I find this hilarious.

  • Now if only everyone realized this, the LMB spam would end.

  • In addition to that, there would be midgets everywhere.

Are you saying that this is bs?

  • No, it’s perfectly fine, just aesthetically funny. You could never duck in AoC, now it’s actually a viable evasion mechanic.

  • I think it is a dumb gimmick that kills the mood for me every time someone uses it. Little things like that really get to me, even if it doesn’t help the opponent gain an advantage.

It was the same for feint spammers in Warband. I had no problem dealing with them, but it annoyed the heck out of me that they would resort to that to try and kill me.

  • You sure make a lot of threads.

I have not had too much luck with ducking. Guess they are kind of swinging downwards now. Had some luck though. Duck, then STABSTABSTAB

Don’t duck too early, since the attack can always be adjusted mid-swing. I imagine most people would attempt to swing at the head for maximum damage, but if they are swinging low you can also try jumping.

  • I remember being on a FFA server where one guy was doing this move, while moving about. It was damn near impossible to hit him. :?

  • This is true, although spamming it is useless against a competent enemy. It can be very useful if you fail to spot someone’s feint and parry early. You still have time to crouch and avoid it.

  • I found this out for myself playing an archer in FFA

Just wanted to unlock the bow, so when it came to melee I just crouched and turned around

So many times they’d think I was dead and move on, I shot many people in the back, sometimes getting 2 kills

Works great standing in water, over bodies and in groups

I’d never do it as a melee class but as ranged it’s quite effective

Finally get back at the bastards who run zigzags and jump…

And if it’s dumb but works it isn’t dumb
