Bought the game today, No servers have tried all 3 solutions



  • Hi,

    I just bought the game today and as you might have guessed no servers.

    I have tried downloading the file, putting in steam and restarting.

    Opted for Steam Beta.

    And of course updated steam, also I have disabled my firewall and anti virus. All other games work, but not this one.

    What can I do at this point?

  • Got the same problem. It’s a problem with the server browser, and they’re supposedly making a new and better one that will fix the problem.



  • Not sure wth the thing is looking for but when I had that happen I was getting a crap load of blocked connections in peerblock blocking various things like NET V rtua, Main Ikoula Backbone network, ServerBeach Emule servers, OVH SAS, Savvis, to name a few :P
    I’d get the same list of blocked IPs every time I tried to refresh the list by changing the filters I use. I temporarily allowed one of the emule server IPs and refreshed and got a list populated. The strangest thing about it is that only happened once so every other time it’s not trying to connect to these servers for whatever reason… o.O
    Anyway you might be blocking them somehow as well.



  • I only have ESET Smart Security running and disabling that doesn’t work either … any other suggestions?



  • Do you have access to your router? Could you try forwarding ports 27000 to 27040 TCP+UDP to your internal IP address?

    I found out my internal IPv4 through cmd/ipconfig.

  • Yeah, you’ll need to set a static internal IP address, for example, I set mine as 192.168.1.5 which is relatively easy to remember.

    You can do this by:

    Hitting Windows+R key to open a run command box. Type ncpa.cpl and hit enter. Right click your Local Area Connection and hit properties. Select Internet Protocol v4. Use the following:
    192.168.1.x (where x is the number you want, up to 254)
    255.255.255.0
    192.168.1.1 (assuming that is your router address, it should tell you in the browser, or if 192.168.1.1 connects to your router page, then this is right)

    If you tell me your ISP, I can tell you the DNS settings you’ll need to enter.

    If the port forwarding ends up not working, well, at least you know how to set up a static IP address now, heh.



  • I was also having the same problem. I can confirm that Martin’s instructions helped me. As a bonus, setting a static IP has boosted my overall internet speed.

    Edit: Now I don’t see servers any more. It worked once, but when I applied filters, the list went blank and will not refresh.



  • If you restart and don’t apply filters, does the server list appear?



  • No. I have to quit, delete the MasterServer2.vdf file. Then I can get a server list, provided I don’t apply filters.



  • Well none of that worked. I guess supporting indies isn’t safe anymore. Playing against bots is very boring also.

    If you want to know 100% if your router is the culprit, try to bypass it connecting your modem directly to your PC and powercycle the modem.



  • Can you post a launch.log for us? It will tell us if you are actually getting server results and it’s just not displaying properly.

  • Woops sorry forgot the important part:

    Go into My Documents\My Games\Chivalry Medieval Warfare\UDKGame\Config\UDKEngine.ini and remove Suppress=DevOnline. Then launch the game and load the server browser. Let it sit there for a few minutes. Then exit cleanly and post a new Launch.log.
