"Weapon Block": how it works ?

  • …Someone could tell me how work “block” without shield…?

…I would like to know if it enough press a button, or if should move the weapon in the direction from which comes the opponent hit…

  • Both, actually. You hit a button to block, and move your blocking weapon into the path of the attacking weapon. This eliminates the always perfect sword parry from AoC without eliminating it altogether.

  • I take it you’re more a M&B player than an AoC player?
I think it will be a much more fluid system than Mount & Blade’s static directional blocking, so we’ll have less, “Oh my god, that was totally supposed to be an up block!” moments.

  • The parrying system involves directional blocking yes, you move your weapon in real time to parry your opponents and this is what we absolutely love about the system and are confident you guys will love it too; there isn’t just 4 static directions, there’s every possible direction, and we feel this works fantastically with the fast pace of the game. Stay tuned for the Combat Developer Blog Part 2 to see more of this in action.

    …That is a great news for me…!
