UDK.exe Has stopped working.

  • Hey guys. I’m not very computer savvy so ill try to help you help me as best as i can. I just bought this game last night, I still cannot play it this morning due to the fact that every time i hit play, it has the initial steam setup, it shows the fun little Chivalry tag, gets my hopes up, then the UDK error flashes.
I’ve literally browsed dozens of UDK errors on the forums and nothing has helped me. I have verified integrity of game cache withing steam, when i used to get the .dll errors i downloaded those, i reinstalled the game, verified again, downloaded latest directx, changed a bunch of the UDKsystemsettings that were graphics related off. I have no clue what to do and im really hoping i didn’t waste my money. Please help?

  • It looks like there is an issue with the game at the moment, I am sure they’re working on it so hold your breath and don’t do anything drastic, like re-install OS :o

Can you please go into your Event Viewer (click start button, type in event viewer, open app) and select Windows Logs and the subcategory of Application. From there, please find the crash relating to UDK and post the information about it here. Looking to see what the faulting module (.dll) file is.

  • Here you go. Hope this helps.

You’re having the kernelbase.dll fail that a lot of people are having. I don’t have an answer to that yet but devs will be investigating it soon hopefully.

  • Try this and report back if it works: viewtopic.php?f=69&t=6174

Unfortunately im on my phone right now so ill try it tonight when I get home.

EDIT: I had sometime before i left, its validating now. Will edit back if it worked or not.

EDIT: This time it had the initial install thing, but after the chivalry tag came up UDK.exe has stopped working.

  • Can you look into your Event Viewer at the latest event from UDK and post it here? Let’s see if it’s the same problem this time.

  • Try deleting My Documents\My Games\Chivalry Medieval Warfare folder. Then try this solution again: viewtopic.php?f=69&t=6174

    Also, please attach a DxDiag.txt.

  • Where can i find that diag?

  • Click the start button, type dxdiag into the search field, open dxdiag.exe, wait for the little green progress bar to finish, click Save All Information. This will generate the DxDiag.txt. Then just attach it in a reply :)
