First time loading problem
-
I’m sorry if this has been brought up before, i just feel a new thread might help me and others.
I’ve bought the game, installed it, including any possible cache. I then go to load the game and i get a windows notification saying “Do you want this software to make changes to your computer” I click yes and then it comes up with “Performing first time set up” in a steam window, only showing for a split second before disappearing and doing nothing. What do i do? Can’t play the game… :x

Go into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\chivalrymedievalwarfare\Binaries\RedistChiv and run the two vcredist executables. Then go into DXRedistCutdown and run DXSETUP.exe.

and then what??
being a computer noob

-
message comes up with "unable to find dsetup.dII

When you do what? Run Chiv through Steam? Run the DXSETUP.exe?
-
it wont run DXSETUP.exe

it wont run DXSETUP.exe
Ah okay that is not a good thing.
Okay, do you have the file “dsetup.dll” inside of the folder with DXSETUP.exe?

Okay if you’re missing this file then Steam didn’t fully download everything. Try going to your game library in Steam, right click on Chiv, select properties, click on Local Files tab, click Verify integrity of game cache button. This will hopefully download any missing or corrupt files.
-
said all files validated and yet i still cant open the game
-
Can you launch the DXSETUP.exe after verifying the files?
