The Black Knight



  • Had this thought of a potential game mode, just a rough draft, so post it here, see what people think.

    Originally I had this idea of some type of LTS version where one is chosen as a Black Knight but instead:

    First team has 1 King and the 3/4 of the rest of the players with their chosen class, second team is composed of the Black Knight and 1/4 of the players with their chosen class.

    The king and his team spawn together on one position of the map with their objective to escort the king to an area, perhaps on the other side of the map however on the way there is a bridge or something to cause one way to pass, which is where the Black Knight will eventually pass through.

    However when the Black Knight passes said area, the bridge will be brought/ a gate or something will come down behind him.

    After that it will require 2 people at the same time to perform an action for a prolonged time to open the way for the king, which will allow the king and the rest to continue the last stretch of map to their destination, if the Black Knight is still alive, he will get a speed boost past that point.

    The king has default king health, however the Black Knight has an inane amount of health that will not be killed easily in the least even by a dozen men.

    The Black Knight wields some kind of 2 handed sword, and that is all, his attacks will go through all parries pushing back all who parried back as if it was a charged attack, he has unlimited stamina.

    However all the attacks made by the Black Knight plant his feet into the ground unable to move, which may explain some of his inane strength.

    Aswell if he hits a team mate, they will be instantly killed and have a twice as long respawn timer.

    With this said, Both the King and the Black Knight have 1 life, the rest are unlimited.

    Aswell there is a secondary objective for the King’s side, it is to go a specific place of the map, specifically a forest would be optimal, in the forest will be the spawn point of the rest of the black knight’s team, along with their spawn location will be a rock with a sword stuck in it, that only the king can pull out(that will require some time, say relative to ramming a castle’s door down mechanic), that will do increased damage to the Black Knight to be able to kill him.

    The king’s team will need to defend him as he pulls out the sword.

    Along with the Black Knight’s attacks this new sword will also one shot team mates it hits and give them a twice as long respawn timer.

    There is no time limit, either the king must reach his destination, or the King must be killed.

    If the Black Knight is killed, he who killed the Black Knight will become him next round(if its possible to put rounds into such a game mode) aswell the previous Black Knight in the current round will spawn as a normal class of their choosing.

    It still needs more tweaks, but that is a rough draft of it, anyone care to state their opinions of it?

    Quite what I was thinking, it’s a good idea but it needs some adjustment to make it playable.
    For instance if the Black Knight’s attack can’t be parried and he has unlimited stamina, all he has to do is spam is way to The King.

    This is true, and suits the Black Knight name proudly, though everything has not been thought up of, see below.

    You do bring a good point, I have already thought of it however.

    A potential fix or temporary fix until something better is have it so when the Black Knight attacks, he stands still while swinging, which may justify his power as he grounds himself before his attacks.

    How does that sound?If good ill add it to main post.

    It actually sounds very good. I really like it.
