Crashing during inital loading screen



  • Whenever I launch the game via Steam the banner appears and then reverts to not responding…no error message and I have to close the game with task manager. :(

    Windows 7 64bit

    Intel Celeron 450 @2.2ghz

    Nvidia Geforce GT 440

    4GB RAM



  • Try running the two vcredist executable files from C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\chivalrymedievalwarfare\Binaries\RedistChiv and then the DXSETUP.exe from DXRedistCutdown folder. If that doesn’t help, please attach a Launch.log and DxDiag.txt.

  • Your processor is single-core and you need at least a dual-core to play the game. That is the reason. Sorry :(

    Any processor that uses an LGA 775 socket. This site verifies that for your desktop too http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/305342-31-emachine-et1831.

    Oddly, NewEgg, Frys, and Tiger Direct don’t have much in the way of LGA 775 CPUs, but Amazon/Amazon marketplace sellers do. Search around here for one in your price range and has more than 1 core. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=node%3D229189&field-keywords=LGA+775&rh=n%3A229189%2Ck%3ALGA+775

    Might not be a bad idea to confirm here that whatever you buy is above the minimum processor too:

    Minimum:

    OS: Windows XP+
    Processor: Core 2 Duo E6600 (2.4 GHz) or AMD equivalent, or better
    Memory: At least 2GB
    Hard Disk Space: 3 GB
    Video Card: ATI Radeon 3870 of higher, Nvidia Geforce 8800 GT or higher
    Graphics card memory: 512MB+
    Sound: Windows compatible sound card



  • This is the exact problem I’m having, except I have a Dual-Core processor (and recently upgraded RAM). I’m playing via Windows Emulation, but no game has had the problem. The DXSETUP and the two other programs have had no effect, and I can’t even find Launch.log and DxDiag.txt. Help?
