New Game Mode Idea-> Money Cart/Carriage



  • For a new game mode i thought it would pretty fun if there was a escort style level. Agatha has to defend a cart/carriage type thing from masons trying to grab money from it and bring it back to tents set up around the route in which the cart goes through. and when the cart gets to the end the winner is whichever team has the most money. For example Agatha defended 70% of the gold meaning that Masons stole 30%. And for when the masons are trying to get it they can chose to take 1 sac full which is like idk 2% of the gold, but can only use one handed weapons. And if the person takes 2 sacs or 1 large sac they are vulnerable and cannot use any weapons, but now have 4-5% of the gold. The masons would have to spawn in tents/small outposts near but not too close to the cart and for Agatha they could have a cart/carriage where they spawn inside it and have two of these carriages infront and behind the money/gold cart, and maybe if the spawning is to cheap for agatha than the masons would be able to torch it making agatha have to spawn at the destination or start of where the cart/carriage goes. or another example is that Agatha spawns in one cart which is in the middle of 2 money carts and of course the cart/carriage isnt going in a straight line it bends and goes through bridges and forts. I can picture the level being in where trees are everywhere and people are able to use it to ambush the other team. So its a multiple moving capture the flag type of deal. Anyways i have no control of whether the developers actually use this or not, but it would be a really fun/stressful new game mode. any opinions?



  • It sounds fun : ) Puts more meaning to the current carriage gameplay than just pushing a cart containing x.

    The overall concept sounds fun : ) Seems to create a good focus on teamwork which I personally like.

    In your game mode would Agatha be able to reclaim their stolen goods by raiding the Masons tents / small outpost? I think this would give a little more balance and force players to choose either to defend or raid in order to claim victory.



  • This is really creative and I’d love to see this idea put to action. I’ve always wanted to play a game with a “Robin hood” type concept :D. I agree with you Stiffwood, this game mode would put more meaning to the current Team objective carriage escort game type, plus it would add more dynamics to this mode that would be fun to try out :) like organized ambushing and mobile defending. However I disagree with gordo12348 with his idea of agatha being able to raid Mason’s camp and steal back money. This takes away from the uniqeness of the game type and it just basically becomes a hybrid of capture the flag. If aggresive and defensive roles for each team are requested then Agatha’s aggresive role would be acheived by simply hunting down the gold carriers on Mason’s team before they can reach the safe zone of their camp as they will be very slow and vulnerable. Mason’s defensive role would be filled by first eleiminating Agatha’s forces at a carriage and then gaurding it from reinforcements.A limit of how many people are able to carry gold should be placed too so that Agatha isn’t overwhelmed by so many scattered gold carriers. Therefore it would be usefull in Mason’s case to continue to control a money carriage while their team members consistenly take money while remaining in the limit of gold carriers. Also, Mason order have to worry about escourting their gold carriers as they will be vulnerable to aggresive Agatha players.

    Overall I think this concept is a great idea and I hope to god the developers consider it :) Its a great game mode with balanced dynamics, its perfectly dependent on team work and absolutlely lots of fun to try :P It also caters to the defensive and/or offensive tastes of all players regardless of which team their on while still remaining true to the medieval genre with its creativety.

  • Seems fun. Seems really fun.

    I specially like the level layout you describe, a road that goes through a forest, with tress and vegetation useful to set ambushes, and a watchtower or two along the way. Maybe the end of the level would be the entrance to an agatha-controlled fortress, so the last part would have more open space at the sides of the road and the masons must desperately fight uphill if they havent stolen enough money.



  • I didn’t read this at all, but is this in anyway suggesting a “Tug of war” with carts? That would be AWESOME.

  • Excellent idea, though the “whoever has the most gold at the end” thing is a bit superfluous. I mean what happens if the pushers lose more than 50% before they reach the end? If the cart loses all it’s gold then it should be gg.



    Its the same as capture the flag, but you have to run around hundred times back and forth.
