UDK.exe problem

  • I have an issue when trying to load Chivalry after purchasing it on steam. It keeps telling me that UDK.exe has encountered a problem. However after trying to delete the ini files in the UDK.exe config and renew them, it still gives me the same prompt. I ran the dxdiag tool and have the “no problems found” in the display, sound, and input tabs. Could you please help resolve this issue or refund me for the game. Thank you, Ganongoat.

  • Hi Ganongoat,

    From your DxDiag.txt:

    ---------------
    Display Devices
    ---------------
Card name: Radeon X1600 Series (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM)

Unfortunately, your video card is below the minimum specs. Chivalry requires an AMD Radeon HD 3800 series or better due to the use of Shader Model 4.0. You will not be able to play the game with that video card. Sorry for the bad news :(

  • So there is no way I can play this game just because I don’t have the correct video card. I want a refund on my game if i can’t play it at all.

You must go through steam for that. Though from what I hear, they don’t give refunds for people who don’t read min specs. Worth a shot though.
