Knock-Down and Fall over
You know how if you spam attack you run out of stamina quickly i was thinking, if your stamina bar is empty it opens you up for knockdown a shield-bash or kick will push you to the floor.
Also it would be cool if Vanguards can do a sprint attack kick/shove wich knocks your enemy on his ass.
Also if you are out of stamina because of spamming or dodging too much if you try to do it more, your man should just run out of energy and fall over on his own. or drop to his knees and regain stamina. i hate out of stamina people can still fight and take on people who conserve there energy.
I like the idea of running out of stamina and then falling over with a kick. The other suggestions, I’m not so big on. Giving vanguards a knockover ability would be abused and lead to unrealistic combat where vanguards just rush at each other instead of using swords. And no one just fights and then falls over automatically, that’s silly and unrealistic. But I do think it would be cool to kick exhausted players over. And then the more heavily armored you are, the slower you stand up. I’m thinking all players automatically stand up, but knights should take a full five or ten seconds to haul themselves to their feet, vanguards should be able to get up in a few seconds, and men at arms and archers should quickly scramble up.
The kick knocking you down if you’re out of stamina would be cool and it would make the kick more useful, and it would make stamina more important, thus cutting down on spamming.
The other idea I don’t like so much.
I have no problem bringing down people out of stamina, all it takes is a single feint, but I do like the idea of being able to knock them on their ass with a kick.
I think you should be able to block the kick, but if you don’t block it then you fall over. Just a way to reduce the amount of people on the ground. I feel seeing a battlefield in which half the players are on the ground in the process of standing up would be unrealistic and ruin immersion.
But if you can block kicks then you wouldn’t be able to break a shield user’s guard with them.
What you say about seeing half the players on the ground is true.
What about if a kick only causes a knockdown if certain criteria are met:
A)Kicker has full health and stamina
B)Enemy has 0 stamina and 50% or less health
C)Kicker weighs more than enemy
This way an archer can’t kick a knight to the floor because that would be ridiculous.
Archers would only be able to knock down other archers, as they’re not melee specialists.
MAA would be able to kick archers and other MAAs down. but not vanguards or knights.
Vanguards would be able to kick archers, MAA and other vanguards to the floor.
Knights would be able to knock down everyone.
Actually trying to kick anyone over while wearing full plate would set you off balance, so knights shouldn’t be the best at kicking. And trying to kick a lightly armored archer over would be hardest because they have the MOST balance. Maybe knockdown is a bad idea.
Knights trained in armour daily. They were very agile in them, and remember the armour weighs much less than what a modern soldier would carry on his back in the field. They would run, climb and even swim in them.
A heavy set knight delivering a kick to your chest with steel boots would definitely knock you on your ass.
And I don’t think a kick from an light, relatively skinny man would do much to a knight with both his feet planted on the ground. It definitely wouldn’t knock him off balance any more than receiving a swing with a heavy sword to the armour, for instance.

OK, you’ve convinced me. I still think there would need to be some very specific conditions for knock-downs to work, so it couldn’t be used by everyone all the time.
