Chivalry Crashing/Overheating. Help.

  • Hello, I am Nadd.

I’ve recently been having technical troubles with Chivalry: Medieval Warfare. My computer will occasionally crash during gameplay (crashes occur nearly 25% of the time I fire the game up). I believe it is due to overheating. My computer doesn’t overheat and crash often, and when it has, it has not done so with such regularity as with Chivalry.

The crash happens usually after ~10 minutes of play. I am running the game on medium settings. I have all the newest drivers. My fps sits around 30 most of the time, it doesn’t seem to spike.

    Processor: Intel Core i7-2720QM CPU @ 2.20GHz
    RAM: 8 GB
    64-bit OS (Windows 7)
Graphics: Nvidia Geforce GT 555M - 2 GB

Are there certain video options I should enable or disable? How can I prevent overheating?

    Thank you.

  • A stab in the dark tells me you’re playing on a laptop.

Another stab tells me you don’t have a cooling pad.

A third stab leads me to believe this will solve your cooling issues.

  • Use some compressed air on the vents to clean out any dust.
