Map Ideas



  • Various map ideas that could make for some interesting matches.

    Ambush
    This map would consist of fairly deep water that could be hidden in and a lot of bushes and tall grass to hide in with a camp type area in the center. Best suited for MAA and Archers because of the silent movement and Archers’ +50% backstab bonus. Objective could be based on a capture type thing or maybe extinguishing their campfire and stealing their smores? (idk)

    Dungeon
    A dark and unfriendly atmosphere with a few torture devices and whatnot that maybe people could be kicked into? A possible map for the “Prison Break” gametype I suggested in thread viewtopic.php?f=8&t=8301

    Cathedral
    A large church with a balcony and catacombs perhaps. Maybe two types and one being where the place has been a bit roughed up by some fighting and parts even on fire? (A possible trap to kick into?) Objectives could include ringing a signal bell at the top of a tower or crashing a wedding?

    Mason Citadel
    The Mason Order headquarters with objectives much like the Stoneshill map, but with Malric being the target instead… Also, instead of pillaging civilians, Agatha could have an objective to burn a barracks, then move in on Malric?

    Blood Tide
    A large fleet of Mason/Agatha ships are found docked and attackers must load up explosives/alcoholic kegs/flammable materials and then destroy each ship. The map could be set in a city port with objectives to actually enter the city before destroying ships… Fighting on the ships should be part of it as well!

    Caverns
    A cave system being used to smuggle weapons to the Masons has been discovered and it’s up to the Agathians to destroy the shipment, seal off the cave, and put a stop to the Masons! The caverns should maybe have pits that could be kick traps as well as larger parts with rocky cover for ranged.

    Siege
    A siege on a city needs people skilled with catapults to break the walls (first objective) Defending side having ballistae. When the walls fall, the second objective for attackers being to burn certain buildings with torches, and finally, Escorting a “king” VIP type player to a certain area of the map (a boat or camp, perhaps?) the death of the VIP means defeat, while reaching the goal is victory.

    I don’t really like ambush that much, but i’d definitly give it a go.

    Dungeon? I’d love that, but with team objective - the Mason prisoners are rioting, they gained weapons and armor, and the Agatha team has to slaughter them to stop them opening the keep up to invaders.

    Cathedral - Masons have to interrupt a wedding between the Agatha heir and a princess from a neighboring country. Agathians have to hold off the Masons and escort the heir and princess out, a VIP sort of deal.

    Mason Citadel - YES. YES YES YES YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.

    Blood Tide - how about ship-to-ship combat? Like, the ships people are fighting on won’t sink, but have ballistae and catapults to use, and once like every few minutes they get close enough to each other for people to board and melee fight. Definitly more of an archer map, but good for other people as well.

    Caverns - totally agree, love it - although I’d love to see a few bottomless caverns as deathtraps, and the thing the Agathians have to blow up is a narrow stone bridge extending across the largest ravine. “Shock and awe” sort of map.

    Siege - I like it, although the VIP bit would be annoying unless the attacking team is at somewhat of a disadvantage - have the defending spawns very close or next to where the escape path is?

    Love the map ideas, gotta admit.



  • I just thought Ambush style map would be a different flavor for people who like to be stealthy and give the archer’s backstab bonus some usefulness.

  • If you want to be stealthy, you can just hide in the bushes on Battlegrounds. 100% guaranteed! (some people even walk on me ^^)



  • I totally hope these will be implemented. If not, I’ll wait for the mod tools and MAKE ZEM MYSELF.

    I do that sometimes :D It is a lot of fun… That’s why I had an idea of an entire map consisting of that style of landscape.

    Well, the bushes thing is only 50/50 for me, usually. Anyways, good ideas for maps!



  • The more I think about stealth based maps, the more I want them. I have a grand time in battlegrounds map in the forest area… I want more!!!

    I love my idea about the caverns… I’ve always loved that stuff in games, like in Skyrim :3

  • dungeon+cathedral could be combined, cathedral catacombs being the dungeon

    caverns+siege too, making the king escape through the caves :)

    I would love a dense forest / night ambush map

    I don’t think that many churches have torture devices and cells in them… Usually it’s a prison or something, but you do have a good idea about escaping through the caves!
