Veteran Helmet Glitch + 999 Kills to unlock weapon bug!?

Please help…
I have just unlocked the Veteran helmets, so I equipped them… but only to find in-game I am not wearing them. I have tried everything and not sure if there is a fix. Thanks
EDIT: I have a new bug after I went back onto the game where my number of kills needed to unlock my 2nd or 3rd weapon for every class is 999! If anyone can help me solve this it would be many thanks.

Did you enable the veteran helmets in the configuration menu of the main menu for your desired team and classes?
The 999 kills bug happens when you try to choose a class but you don’t choose a team. Generally this happens if you join the spectator “team” and then try to choose a class.

Yes I do have them on my classes for all characters. But they are not showing in-game.

So your UDKCustomization.ini reads:

Did the achievements for them pop?

Yupp exactly that. I have the achievement as well named “(class) Veterans Helmet”

Best that I can suggest is to delete the Chivalry folder from Documents\My Games and reset them in the in-game configuration menu. Doing this will also reset your video settings and custom keybinds.
If that doesn’t work, reinstalling the game is the next step.
