Possible "No Server/Lack of Server" fix

  • Hi Chivalry Com,

I created a new Topic since the original Sticky-Thread is locked.

I tried every suggested option the get the “No-Server-Problem” fixed, but nothing helped.
I even turned everyting off, Firewall, AV and anything else… didnt work.

Then i screwed around with my Router settings and got a possible solution:
Since i got high pings and even internet blackouts, i had to switch my Wireless Settings from
Auto (n/g/b) Auto Channel to 802.11gb Channel 12

when i switched to 802.11n Channel 12 or Auto everythign, i got all the Servers but with high pings IG
I switched it back to my setting and the problem seems to be gone

i cant remeber if there was an update, but it could help some players or even the dev’s.

  • never mind,
this solution stoped working for me

    edit #1:
restarted the router, fix the problem again…for now

  • Is your router running with the latest firmware version? Does it have some kind of packet flood protection enabled?

  • Hi reMixx,

Fireware is up-to-date and there is no such option for flood protection.

Oh okay. Well if you have a lot of people with their own WiFi networks nearby that would explain the channels. If there are a lot of networks on the same channels (in one area), then there will be packet collisions (dropped packets, increased latencies, etc.).

  • if have about 10 WiFi networks which my adapter finds,
with a little tool called metaping which shows me a ping
to a ip over a period of 1h every second in a graph i decided
    to keep channel 12…
jitter is a small problem now (3-15ms)

you seem to know your way around that tec-stuff
know anything about hardware monitoring software/setups?

    Monitoring what in particular?

  • CPU: Clock, Temperatur und load (if possible all 4/8 seperatly)
    graphics: GPU clock, Temperatur, load, memory-clock, memory-usage, fan-speed %
    ram: usage
    Internet: Ping graph, up/down speed
    HDD: up/down speed graph
and ofc fps, but i can use fraps for that

i got some tools which work i guess except for the graphics memory clock/usage

but i cant show them IG, sadly i dont have a second monitor output but a netbook
    in my home network

  • Second monitors have been known to cause issues with Chivalry…

I don’t know of anything offhand, sorry.

You could always code an app to send the info to your netbook if you are that kind of saucy individual.

  • Im not that good… yet :P

    have found 2 temp solutions

msi afterburner + hwinfo for IG (but really hard to read)

and some gadgets in combination with zoneOS’s zonescreen for multiple monitor on my netbook

server problems have been solven, but dont know how tough

thread can be closed i guess
