[INDEX] Ricky's Combat Guides & Gameplay
Hello and welcome to my thread where I will be hosting all of my Chivalry Class Guides and Gameplay Videos. I believe that people learn best from instruction and from seeing actual discussion put into action. I will use this philosophy to teach you how to become a better Chivalry player.
Please be patient with me as I am currently a student doing full time and a half classes.
Each link is provided with a steam or a youtube link whichever you prefer.

Okay I watched your vanguard guide…
I’m distinctly unimpressed by the amount of helpful information in it. It’s a 5 minute view of the weapons screen during which you list all the weapons, mispronounce the zweihander and basically just tell people to use 2-3 specific weapons without even explaining why they should use them. It’s wrong for 2 reasons; firstly there are many reasons to use ANY of the 9 vanguard weapons (possible exception being the fork) and it isn’t helpful to just tell people to use either the brandistock, halberd or zweihander.
The 5 minute gameplay footage which follows is also a bit uninformative. You also manage to say that the zweihander is ‘short range’. I don’t know which zweihander you’re talking about.
I would suggest a more comprehensive overview of weapons and gamplay which shows a) why a specific weapon is good or bad or b) tips which help for the vanguard specifically, such as learning to keep your distance.
Nice post. Well set out. +1 ;)

I agree with Bloodhead.
Also your knight video is fairly uninformative. Basically you don’t enjoy playing a knight so you tell everyone that it is “a waste of a class”. Just because you’re not very good at playing a certain class or style hardly makes it a waste. Why even bother putting a video out there and call it a “guide” if it only says “this isn’t very good, don’t play it”?
I spent about 8 hours playing knight and I did a second guide where I go into detail on all the primary weapons.
Ill have it uploaded soon. Its 5gb and its going to take awhile.
Okay. Now I watched your knight guide.
I don’t want to be too rude. I don’t. But really, you need to take down that so-called “guide” now. Not only is it COMPLETELY uninformative but it is simply WRONG. The Knight is better than the vanguard as a class. You say the maul 1-hits ‘anything it touches’. This is wrong - and worse still, it is even proven wrong IN THE VIDEO when you fail to 1-hit a man-at arms.
You use a grand total of 3 weapons, giving no helpful information on any of them.
I am sorry to say it but that guide is a disgrace and it will be a hindrance to players seeking to learn, rather than a help.
Updated thread to add the second knight guide that goes over all the primary weapons in greater detail.
Added annotation links to the 2nd Knight guide video for easy access to any particular primary.
I spent about 8 hours playing knight and decided to make a guide
Pretty much the gist of this all, completely silly and useless.
The knight just feels an average jack of all trades. Maybe he has some place in duels but I don’t duel, I mostly play Team Objective and occasionally FFA and he feels like he takes too long to get into battle, too slow to dodge multiple opponents like maa, too low damaging and too low reach to aoe spam like vanguard. The only time they bother me is when I have to hit them in the feet as an archer trying to get around the terrible hitbox of the shield. Most times as a vanguard or maa Im thinking “Awesome another knight who’s going to try and 1 shot me but instead get comboed non-stop as I swing up close hugging him while he thinks his shield will protect him. Or if I’m vanguard where I’m just going to either outreach him and get my huge 1 hit on him that does even more damage than he does or outspeed him in a parry duel.” I can see where he might win duels because he can take a hit purposely to get an attack in or survive it, but in battle with more than one person after taking a hit from his high hp, he’s just now a sluggish character with the hp of an archer and he pretty much will get 1-shotted by a vanguard or 2-hit by an maa where he cant keep up in speed with either one and there are going to be multiple ones fighting him at the same time. The only thing I could see as an advantage with them is if you team stacked a lot of them together since you have to hit them multiple times to kill them, it would make the people attacking them waste a lot of time fighting all of them effectively tanking through the objective timer, but as a single character alone I think they do pretty poorly. Maybe you disagree but this is how I feel about it.
